I know its early but i thought it would be interesting convo since im procrastinating studying. To get it started personally my biggest disappointments have been bayern and marseille. My biggest surprise has been Mainz.
It's so early but a few thoughts Bayern showing how much they need Robben IMO. Everton have been crap as well. Real don't look like Real yet, think a lot is Ronaldo not on his best form. Inter look like garbage. Surprises: Blackpool, Mainz, Hoffenheim, Valencia
Roma has 2 pts out of a possible 9 against relegation fighting teams. Lost to Inter in SuperCup and played like a bunch of scared bitches against Bayern.
They also lost to Atletico 2-0 Watson. Not very impressive. Only player that looks ready to start the year is Eto'o.
bayern always starts slow in the bundesliga and then becomes unbeatable after the winter break and they won their cl game, dunno why theyre called a disappointment relative to their usual form this time of year
Schalke has to be the #1 disappointment, 0 points in the BL and lost in the CL to Lyon. Surprises: Saint-Etienne and Mainz Ligue 1 as a whole is a complete mind fuck right now 6 games in.
I think the earliest we see the real Rooney is next year. Just don't see him pulling it out of nowhere. It will have to be a vacation and rest to get his body healed and his head out of the sand.
Blackpool for sure as a surprise. Chelsea is outplaying my expectations imo And of course, my team, is doing exactly what I thought they'd do.
Likely, I just wonder if we should bench him and give him a 2 week vacation to clear his head, or if he should be allowed to work out his problems on the pitch. Vampire is not going to score a hattrick to save us everyweek.
SAF will never do that and Rooney will never agree. Both seem very stubborn. I think Man U's real problem is defense though. You guys are leaking goals this year. Not sure how much Ferdinand will help. May need a real partner for Fletcher in midfield since Carrick is not the answer.
Bayern have the same number of points as they did last year when they almost won a European treble. 80% TOP against Cologne, yes you read that right, e-i-g-h-t-y percent with 21 shots and 20 corners. Sucks to not be able to finish, but we're still dominating it's just tough to put one in the net against 10 defenders and a keep. Mainz is a pleasant surprise, have friends from there and wouldn't even mind seeing them win it. Schalke looks to be this years Hertha Berlin. Can't help but laugh at that though terrible for the league coefficient at a crucial time.
initially yes, but now there isnt not any specific rule as far as i know, instead they just invested a lot of money into the youth systems for every club in B1 and B2 to develop the german talent so instead of sticking their heads in the sand and bitching about foreigners being better than their own, they invested to improve their talent so that it would beat out the foreigners naturally
Biggest Surprises through 6 games: West Brom with 10 points and in 5th place, Rags have yet to win on the road, lack of goals from City, Droga's touch in the passing game, and Blackpool ahead of Liverpool in the table. Biggest Disappointments through 6 games: Everton in dead last in table, Officials and questionable calls, Tottenheim's start to the season, International break injuries, Big Clubs bowing out of the Carling Cup, and American owners in England, Martin O'Neil's resignation at Aston Villa.
Starting to think Wolves will not survive the year. WBA and Blackpool are outplaying anyone's expectations and might be the reason we're sent down.
