who on your team do you think bursts on to the scene with a great year? while he has been highly touted and is well known i think its the year benzema shows out. a lot has been expected from him but he has produced little last year. i think he nets 20+ goals this year.
germans that will break out that didnt break out during the wc: - toni kroos - holger badstuber (at cb)
Easy for Man Utd: Javier Hernandez A close second could be Federico Macheda, Nani or Antonio Valencia.
I think it has to be Andy Carroll. If we are going to stay up he has to put the ball in the net. Other than that I think Jose Enrique is going to have a great year.
Kieran Gibbs, LB, not as fast as Clichy but way better on the ball and way better pushing forward, when Clichy inevitably gets hurt this year, Gibbs will take the spot and hopefully not look back
Kroos is a great choice and I think he has the talent to be better than Ozil. For Roma I think its Jeremy Menez and possibly Rosi if he gets a chance to play over Cassetti
I don't really know how to answer this question, because our team is the same as last year and is full of players who've played for quite a while. As far as young players... Giovani Dos Santos - Replaced Lennon on the right and looked decent. Danny Rose - Already has one of the most awesome goals in Spurs' history. The goal was subsequently described as "a volley so thunderous that you could hear the whack off his boot above the din of the raucous crowd" in The Times,[8] and cited as one of the goals of the season by commentator Andy Gray. That goal was cut down into the best ten goals of the season according to Andy Gray, and it was voted for as the best goal by the public with 38% of the vote and Fernando Torres came second with half as much of the vote at 19%. John Hartson called it the best goal ever. Unfortunately, because of their positions and our wonderful midfield (Bale, Modric, Huddlestone, Lennon), I doubt they'll get enough time to really have "breakout" years. I think the only person who could qualify is whoever we sign at striker (looking like Loic Remy).
Gibbs I think Walcott has his best season Ngog looks to have improved. I think Chelsea is gonna love Ramires Maybe Jack Rodwell for Everton.
Haha yeah I think he is the biggest homer on the board. The jews have a bunch of good midfielders but none that I would call special or wonderful, at least not yet.
There's a reason Sir Alex Ferguson made Bale and Modric priorities this summer. The guy beside Modric (Huddlestone) has played well and been very reliable (and made Cappello's 30-man roster). The guy beside him, Aaron Lennon, was a starter on England's World Cup squad. Are they the world's best midfield? No, definitely not. I love how they play, though. They work well together, especially Bale and Modric. I don't think anyone will emerge in the midfield because of the chemistry our midfielders already have. The best part about them? Modric is the old man of the group at 24. Huddlestone and Lennon are 23, and Bale just turned 21.
Good midfield yes. Wonderful no. Playing for England really isn't an accomplishment and they all sucked so bad they didn't make it back for the friendly.
also look out for sandro wagner on werder bremen he was the starting #9 and scored 2 goals against england in the u21 but hurt his knee last year if he has recovered and still maintains his edge and finds a way to get some burn with pizarro and felix kroos also strikers on werder, he could ball
I wanna say Sergio Canales for Real Madrid but I doubt he gets enough PT. He will be a beast in the future though.
It's cool. He only played left mid for the last half of the season, which is part of why I'm so high on him. For a long time, he wasn't even getting first team action. Then, they switched him from LB to LM and suddenly he's a household name drawing 20M bids from the likes of ManU and AC Milan. I think he's definitely a guy to watch. So, if you can consider Gareth Bale a breakout player, he's my breakout player.
Bale is a nice player but no way was he getting $20million bids. Aston Villa is only getting a $18mil bid plus a disgruntled player for James Milner and Ozil isnt even getting $20 mil. 99% of those transfer rumors that you hear are complete bullshit and it seems like you dont realize that.
Bale > Milner Ozil would get a lot more, but is in the final year of his contract so they have no leverage. Accept a discounted bid or get nothing
Depends on what you mean. Who emerges as a difference maker for the team? Or who emerges on the international scene? New breakout player is obviously David Villa. Emerging player will probably be Jonathan (brother of Giovanni Dos Santos). Edit: If we get rid of Ibra in some form or another, giving Bojan some more minutes, he will start to become more well known.
nah Milner can play all 5 positions in the midfield, and play them better than Bale Bale is an average LM, who is a good crosser of the ball with his left and thats about it, every time he gets the ball he puts his head down and takes it to the corner to try to create space, and he cant defend well enough to be an EPL LB every week Milner would be a perfect utility player for the big 4 that is his peak
all bale does is run with his head down towards the corner and cross it thats it and he doesnt even do that very well shit player
Bale is at least as good as Milner and is three years younger. He just turned 21, for Christ's sake, and has become a household name already at a brand new position. As for the transfer rumor being bunk, SAF tried to sign Bale in '07 and again in '08. [On the '07 bid:] "The bid we made for Gareth Bale reflected his potential," explained the United manager. "Southampton said no because they're looking for more money and they have every right to do that." Do you really think it's far-fetched he would try to sign him again after a few months of brilliant outings? Plus, Bale is just damned cool.
So I say that most transfers rumors are bullshit and you counter with something from 07? Milner was young player of the year last year in the premier league, I said Bale could end up being better but right now he just isnt.
and those two were deserving when they won it and Richards won it as a 19 year old. Now he is a 22 year old role player. Bale is a solid contributor but he is not a superstar and is barely a household name in England.
FA awards are meaningless, they gave Giggs POY 2 years ago as a lifetime achievement award and the starting 11 is usually bad
