Ok. So we own tie breakers over Det/Sea but don’t over Minn. after tonight: KC Det - E Minn - 2 Sea - 2.5 Det ends with ChiSox at home, Minn has 2 more vs Mia then end with Balt. With 2.5 and the tie breaker it’s very unlikely to come down to Sea. So magic number over Minn is down to 4 by my calculations.
I assume Marsh was available? I think a better strategy would of been getting 3 out of Lynch/Marsh instead of hoping to piece together these innings with the crappy guys.
The Braves/Mets series delay sucks for us. Makes them all vital for the Braves where they could hypothetically have been eliminated already and lost motivation
One thing though, if we do sneak in. Ragans, Lugo, Wacha will be deadly. Move Singer, Marsh, and Lorenzen to add depth to the bullpen (Singer and Marsh should each be able to dominate a couple innings). Get Vinnie back. And we all saw what Bobby did in the HRD. Get our MVP under the big lights and let him shine. It could be a really fun October.
I wouldn't get too excited about a Vinnie postseason bump. So many times guys have come back from wrist/hand injuries and really struggle for an extended period of time. Please, Vinnie, give everyone ITT a reason to bump my post with a "this aged like milk" response.
Honestly, I don't think I'd actually laugh out loud, but hey I'd still post "LOL" cuz who actually laughs out loud when they post that anyways?
Hud mentioned that he broke the thumb in his glove hand just like Vinnie. He said he was able to swing no problem but fielding a ball would drop him to his knees. So we might get some DHing in the wild card.
173 OPS+ for Royals superstar Bobby Witt Jr. That is the highest by a shortstop with at least 120 games played since the Pirates’ Arky Vaughan had a 190 mark way back in 1935. The only other shortstop to meet those conditions? Some guy named Honus Wagner, who did it five times (1904-1905 and 1907-09). And oh by the way, Witt is the only player ever with 30 homers, 40 doubles, 10 triples and 25 steals in a season.
Marlins blew it. 3 errors in 7/8th. Was up 4-0. Knew the second they left bases loaded it would burn them.
Jeez Marlins just holding on here. it’s hard work watching them. They are terrible. This Norby bloke strikes out 5 times and then gets a horrendous read on 2nd when he should score.
