Go get some bats and pray the starters don’t revert to the mean! What an incredible season though, for real
Like father like son. My little DirtBall in the making (was flipping off the Yankees bullpen as they ran out for the ‘brawl’)
Best part of the night. Some Yankee fan HS turds stood up after an out in the bottom of the night and chanted “This games over!!!” (Clap clap clap clap clap). Your boy clap backed with a “unlike your virginity kids!!!” They sat down and left before the final out. Mocking is my only talent.
Bro cmon you pay these guys millions it's a business you make it this far you play your best regardless of the situation remember the giants in 14?
So how do we move forward. Wacha will opt out. Maybe Sherman can give him 4-5 million more and sign him for another 1 and 1. I’d love to trade Brady, maybe get an elite bullpen arm and a high potential but a couple years off SP and position prospect. So we have the 2 Cy Young finalist at 1 Ragans 2 Lugo, hopefully 3 Wacha. Then Bubic, Marsh, Lynch, Lorenzen, maybe a (Kudrna, Wokters, Champaign), hopefully they can ID another FA gem like Lugo/Wacha to add a spot. Infield is pretty well set with Kel-Bob-Mike-Vin. Bottle neck i see is Sal/Vin/Fred/Jac for C/DH/1B, who’s the odd man out? Can Jac play a corner OF spot? OF is tougher. We’ve got MJ, Hunter, Isbel, Blanco. Nothing great in that bunch. A gold glove caliber CF that can lead off would be incredible, no clue if one of those are available. I love what Pham brought but he can’t play CF in the K and I’m not sure about his bat as an everyday corner OF. Love that when JJ called him he answered the phone and said “what took you so long, I’ve been waiting to help you guys”, outside of Maikel we don’t have a cocky ass and we need some. What JJ does to fill the back end of the rotation and fill the OF will be interesting this offseason. Luckily the best player in the game is here and he’s ours for a long time.
And I’m saying there’s plenty of other examples of starters getting shelled coming from the bullpen. I’d rather have had Ragans for a game 5 than the chance of using him for 1-2 IP in game 4 bullpen wasn’t that bad
Offense in any way, shape or form are #1. I don't particularly care what position (outside of 1B/DH/C logjam) because we have plenty of positional versatility. Just get somebody who can hit the fucking ball with some pop. Bullpen, would be nice to get some Will Smith types who don't completely fall apart. I'd look for at least one SP but it's definitely #3 on the list. I'd assume Wacha will test the market, but Marsh showed some signs, Kyle Wright is still hanging around, we have enough pieces that I'd think we could dredge up a 5th starter type, especially if we can strengthen/lengthen the bullpen and score more than 3 runs a game. They should also add some more entry/exit gates to the god damn parking lot as well. What a disaster.
I haven't been to a Chiefs game in a couple years but I don't remember it being THAT bad. Wednesday night I got out relatively quickly, but that was I think mostly luck by where we ended up in the lot. We got stuck over by the Chiefs practice facility yesterday and holy fuck that was thunderdome. Fighting, yelling, crashes, the whole 9. And since we didn't move an inch for almost an hour, we had a front row seat to it all.
yeah that’s pretty odd for a royals game in my experience. chiefs games can take an hour easy, longer if it’s a close game and everyone stays to the end
This was his 2nd hardest hit ball all year. Then Vinnie smoked one right at the 2B next. When that happened I assumed it wasn’t meant to be this go around.
He can’t K 5 times but such a tough luck series. xBA over 150 points higher. 5 balls over 100 mph exit velo and none were hits. Just extra motivation for the off season.
Looks that way. I love baseball...but MLB is full of the stupidest damn bunch of fuckfaces ever, anywhere.
This is all posturing at this point but his 4 “points” 1. Happy with rotation, won’t look to add. 2. Doesn’t want to move Brady. 3. Bullpen is “fine” if Harvey’s back is healthy. 4. Need to add 2 bats, lead off hitter and power/on base for the middle of the line up.
Just a formality because we all know he’ll finish 2nd but now it’s guaranteed we get the extra pick. I think Rany said it’ll be #31.
Knowing Fesco there’s probably 5% truth to this. Definitely can see Royals media telling him to make a big deal about this to put pressure on securing funds for downtown.
But it's also abundantly clear that KCMO is an clusterfuck right now WRT to the ballpark so I'm 99% sure the Royals have at least engaged with Kansas and Joco/Wyco. This could mostly be a play to gain leverage, who knows, but I'm guessing there is legit smoke here. The Royals clearly want a new stadium, KCMO can't get out of their own way, so the team probably said "fuck it, on to the backup plan(s)."
I’d definitely prefer a downtown stadium, although I don’t have an issue with them going to Kansas. But no thank you to those sites.
I'd take that result right now (with the roster as-is). I don't expect our injury luck to repeat. I also expect us to make some big moves to improve the offense so even if the pitching steps back, I think that record is actually about right.
So career .360 OBP in front of Bob now, compared to last years .260 in front of him that’s a great improvement. Now I think we move him to LF, Massey is the better defender and I don’t know if either can play third. So currently 2 rotation spots with Marsh/Lorenzen/ Bubic/Lynch/Wright as options. JJ needs to work some magic and find a solid 3/4 inning eater. We’re a May Cole injury from a wasted season right now. What I hate about this is we’re still stuck with Isbel at CF. And where does Jac go? Seems like C, 1B, RF, DH will be trying to fit in Sal, Vin, Jac, MJ, Renfroe, Fermin every night. There’s been a TON of smoke about Santander. But if India is LF that means he’d be added to that log jam list @ RF/DH. (I also worry about his stats being padded by the Balt boom box).
