Fun with stats! Hunter Renfroe still has the lowest WAR on the team at -1.5, Canha is second at -1.1, Salvy third -0.9. Jac currently has a lower WAR number than MJ Garcia has an OPS+ 9 points higher than BWJ but is 1.5 behind him in WAR, I am assuming driven largely by his league-leading 9 CS and 7 GIDP (vs. 1 for BWJ) Ragans has the lowest WAR number of the rotation... Lorenzen is the only other one in the red on WAR and he's only -0.1.
Three players with an OPS+ over 100 and Vinnie's is only 109 Massey is 35 woof. Renfroe is 37, for reference Isbel is 77 OPS+ but still worth 0.8 WAR Salvy, as crappy as he's been is still 85 OPS+ which is much higher than I would have expected.... MJ's OPS+ is an unfathomable -2
Remember when the Ms couldn’t hit for shit then they fired everyone and hired Martinez and Seitzer? Must be nice having a top 10 OPS now.
U.S. Rep. Don Bacon, a Republican from Nebraska, said Monday he will not seek reelection next year. His announcement comes a day after Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina, another Republican, also decided not to seek reelection.— The Associated Press (@apnews.com) 2025-06-30T15:39:04Z This is a few days old but I missed it. Not sure if it got posted in here
Neither can anybody else lol. It's the most obvious move that needs to happen. Splits show he performs better when he's DH and not at C or 1B (OPS is over .100 points lower when he plays the field) . The best lineup has always been Freddy at C, Salvy at DH, and Vinnie at 1B but Q is hellbent on having a 35-year-old that's 260 pounds be the everyday catcher and moonlight at 1B.
Well we’re not going to trade him or cut him, seems like DH is the best thing to clear space. I don’t really wanna trade Fermin tbh. Let the rookies come up and learn from both.
