Def deserves a spot moreso than Theo Walcott, but I guess you could have made an argument for Andy Carroll.
This is really big and all for it. https://www.redbulletin.com/uk/en/s...-new-rules-will-change-football-as-we-know-it Cliffs: Something like this is a yellow now. If it happens outside the box, still a red.
I get Italy not bringing Pirlo but snubbing Giovinco is typical Italian snobbery. He deserves a spot on their squad. They are weak in attacking options too.
With him and Zouma out, France should just say fuck it and play with 4 attackers, Pogba Kante and Matuidi in midfield and 3 in the back.
I'm excited to see how Wales will fair, glad that Gareth gets to partake in a major national team competition finally. They could make a decent run.
Unless Ramsey pulls out his 2013 form, 50/50 at best they get out of the group then eliminated in first knockout.
Jeremy Mathieu out now as well. Not that he's worth a shit. He's replaced by Samuel Umtiti. Huge upgrade imo...
Fun fact: Payet is from Reunion Island. Same tiny remote island in the Indian Ocean that the flap from the Malaysian flight was found
That vine sort of leaves out the really nice move he did to create the space to get the cross off. Just an incredible player.
yea. he came back in early April and played in the last 4-5 games. Most of them were as a sub, but he did log more and more minutes as things went on. Lyon is being super careful with him.
Some of my French friends are bitching back and forth about who should start, Payet or Martial. lol... what a problem to have.
Gelson Fernandes has scored in every major league excluding La Liga. He has scored only 10 career club goals. He's got 2 international goals. One of them was the winner against Spain in the World Cup they later went on to win.
The German Theo Walcott. I think I would take a 70% Marco Reus over a 100% Andre Schurrle. Podolski must be the best "locker room guy" ever. There must be a dozen better players than him they could have picked.
Link to the posters for each team in the Euros, mostly corny but whatevs. The Bale one isnt too shabby. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/euro...uro-2016-team-posters-for-all-24-participants
I couldn't help but cringe at how patronizing some of the words were after the "More than" for some of the teams. There could have been even more if not for Hamsik's hairstyle and Bale's hand gesture.
Really hoping Spain finish second to the Czechs in their group so I get to see them play vs. maybe Italy. *fingers crossed*
It isn't wise to predict that Italy will finish where the majority experts of them finishing in a major tournament. They're just as inconsistent as France.
Walker looking really solid in this England match, gotta think he and Rose have locked up the fullback spots. Not sure if this is the exact lineup Roy plans on using during the opening match for Euro though.
The original plan was to use this match as preparation for Wales because Ronaldo and Bale pretty much do the same thing for their respective teams. Except Bale is actually happy when a teammate other than him scores.
Don't think you can play Kane and Vardy together, especially if you're gonna force Rooney into an AM role.
Totally agreed, Roy must be desperate to please everyone and is seeing if this set up could possibly work. It doesn't.
England really need to drop their whole obsession over the captaincy and how they must automatically start every match. Especially for the fact that it usually takes a player a decade to build up the kind of prestige to even be considered a candidate for the captaincy. Which means they're probably not in their prime anymore. No other country on the planet does this.
