I like seasons, as long as the shitty ones are really short. Devil's Head was awesome. Highly recommend to those who haven't been. Getting there is annoying but the top is great
Solid brush fire flared up right off I-70 westbound by the "geological point of interest" and dinosaur parking lot exists. Saw it on my way back from the mountains. Police/Fire Department shut down 70 westbound and forced all traffic onto 285. Saw some more smoke somewhere behind the Boulder foothills while driving home. Probably Nederland area. A bunch of fires popped up this weekend across the state.
Yeah the I-70 one was right by my house. Trying to get back from the gym was no fun. And the fire up by Boulder was Nederland. It's been raging all weekend
Planning a trip for August. Is there any practical difference in staying in a cabin outside of Boulder vs. Nederland? We'll be doing a few day hikes and relaxing outside of that.
More on that Nederland fire... I mean, you can't make this shit up. It is so Bama. The fucking rapist even has Bama bangs. "This isn't the first run-in with law enforcement for the pair: Kuykendall was arrested four years ago and later convicted of raping a 15-year-old girl, according to Alabama criminal records, and the Cullman Times newspaper reported Suggs was arrested in 2012 for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia."
i had my first solo flight from centennial, to pueblo, the springs and back home today. it was pretty sweet.
And my damn concert schedule is blowing up here in the next couple of months. 7/29 - Avett Bros / Gary Clark Jr @ Red Rocks 8/5 - Tedeschi Trucks Band @ Red Rocks 8/10 - Trampled by Turtles @ Ogden 8/11 - Moon Taxi (FREE) @ The Hill in Boulder 8/28 - Rayland Baxter @ Bluebird 9/1 - Penguin Prison @ Ophelia's 9/16 - 9/18 - Telluride Blues & Brews 9/24 - Jackie Greene @ Fox Theatre 9/26 - Leon Bridges @ Fillmore Unreal. That free Moon Taxi show is absurd. This is the second time they will be playing for free in CO since I got here. Anyone going to any of these?
Going to 7/29 and 8/10. The free shows in Boulder are usually pretty wild. A few years ago the String Cheese free concert on the hill was pretty much viewable from my front yard. So much fun.
Welp, instead of doing just one this morning, I decided to do the Democrat-Cameron-Lincoln-Bross loop. So four 14ers in one morning. Not bad. I feel kind of dead now though.
Back in the 303 tomorrow night. Very excited to be back in the best city in the country. not excited for my impending dehydration, but am looking forward to the reintroduction to altitude and the subsequent cheap dates.
Cameron doesn't count, it's just part of Lincoln. Nice hike though, and definitely fun to knock 3 out in one day.
after spending a few months here, I was able to deduce that this viral video took place in front of Linger. Is there a music venue there? What is with the line?
Line is for Little Man Ice Cream. Always worth the wait. Fuck the people that walk by and say "is the ice cream that good?" Yes, motherfuckers, it is. Hence, why people are standing in the line.
I go to Little Man for a sugar high. I usually don't go to breakfast looking for one Plus Snooze is regional and has much more tourist hype for those visiting Denver.
Almost got kicked out of Red Rocks for a joint after some fucks behind us called security instead of just asking us to stop smoking... Guess thats what I get for going to an Avett Brothers concert
Seriously? That's fucked up. You talking about the show with Gary Clark last night? I was there. Had plenty of people around us lighting up, including my buddy. Even saw a father/son combo having a good time. Sorry you had to deal with that. Clearly those people don't go to many concerts in Colorado. Did you know if they were from out of town? Talked to a lot of people who were just visiting around me so that could be it.
Didn't even bother trying to have a conversation. It was a dun concert either way, Gary Clark is a monster. That was weird though, I've been to 10+ concerts this season and never ran into a problem like that
hello big dawgs my girlfriend and I are in the city of Denver until Wednesday and would love some suggestions. she doesn't drink but we can still hit some nightlife spots too. Looking for a solid dinner suggestion tonight. we're staying right around here:
Linger is a good choice for dinner. Then you can grab Little Man Ice Cream after. Avanti F&B is a nice place to grab lunch and a drink. They have a bad ass rooftop and 7 different restaurants, each in a different storage container. Union Station has a bunch of cool spots. Mercantile is another great place for dinner. Table 6 is close to where you are and a nice little spot. Go to a show at Red Rocks (if you don't already have that planned). Denver Zoo is nice, but it's been pretty damn hot. Try and get up to Boulder and go walk around Pearl St Mall.
Walk to Uptown (17th Ave). Only a handful of blocks north from you (and west of City Park). Check out Steuben's, Ace, or Dos Santos for food. Also Olive & Finch is a good little breakfast/lunch option (also on 17th). TAG burger bar is a bit to your east. Solid option as well. Believe there is free live jazz on Sunday nights in the summer at City Park as well if that's something you're into
cool yeah I think we decided on walking up there already. is there enough to do there for the entire night?
Union Station is right by Coors Field and that area is good for walking around. Avanti and Linger are both close to Union Station, but not the best for walking around. You can also go over to Larimer Square and check out Euclid Hall or a bunch of different restaurants in that area. Perfect for walking around as there are a lot of cool shops.
