Played Raven and Baytown and really enjoyed both. Wanted to play burnt pine but they were redoing the greens.
Never even heard of that one, I'm over in PCB. Regatta Bay is another nice course in destin. Windswept dunes is another course up in Freeport that used to be the longest course in FL. Great layout in a neighborhood that never really took off. Played it a few weeks ago, its in great condition. If the course was in Destin it would be a 100$+ dollar course. Unless someone tees off right before you or immediately after you won't see another golfer during your round.
With Nike's move to eliminate clubs, bags, and balls today I was able to pickup a dozen boxes of RZN blacks for $15 a box, and the limited edition Rory putter for $100, $500 retail.
Sorry, had to flush my DNS to post this AM. They had a large sale at Nike world headquarters yesterday for all employees. Pricing discounts should be flowing through the supply chain soon to liquidate all inventory to remove themselves from the business.
If Tiger took roids it only hurt him.........and he was still more dominant than Jack while in his prime........against 10x better/deeper fields.
I look at him like Barry Bonds. All time great beforehand but he took something and you'll never know exactly how great he could have been clean
I think he used the juice (hgh specifically) to heal his body initially. Then he went overboard with it and the overtraining.
I agree. I won't claim to know when he started juicing but his dominance in and before 2000 wasn't a product of PEDs imo
Tiger held onto an unsustainable swing longer than he otherwise would've been able to using PEDs. I'm on my phone that felt like a horrible sentence grammatically.
The one theory I heard that I thought held weight was his ability to practice being helped by PEDs. His competitors called his practice habits inhuman due to stamina needed, which would be helped tremendously by PEDs. Again though, that doesn't necessarily allow him to make a 15 footer when it really matters.
Isn't there something that goes along with PED use that says it heightens your senses or something of that nature? Just playing devil's advocate, but if I'm not making that part up then I could somewhat see an argument trying to be made that said the heightened senses could help with adrenaline control/mental stability which everyone knows he was strong there
Stayed in Watersound last October and those were the two courses I played. Both were really great courses, but I enjoyed the feel of Shark's Tooth a little more.
Finchem (and the tour in general) made a boatload of cash off of Tiger. Not surprising he considers him to be the GOAT.
We are members of both Sharks Tooth and Camp Creek. Each course has it's own identity and challenges so it depends on what you value in a golf course. If you are staying at any St. Joe property (I am pretty sure they own watercolor) you can book a tee time at either one. Camp Creek is probably a 15 minute drive and ST is more around 25. Camp Creek- Depends on what tees you play from but I believe it's the harder of the two. The tight tee shots and greens are very challenging. If you are into difficult greens, triple tier, and grueling breaks this is the course for you. The one thing I don't like about CC is that each hole to me feels like the same, dog leg over or around marsh. The back is way harder than the front, I am talking like a 5 shot swing. Lots of Gators. Sharks Tooth- I love the tooth, I mean I really love it. A fun but challenging course where each hole has its own personality. First three holes are pretty pedestrian but then the course really starts to show you why people like it. It wraps around Phillip's Inlet and the back has some beautiful holes right on the water. There is no rough so the fairways look wide but they really aren't. Greens are not that large and not particularly difficult. Where the course can really become a bitch is if the wind starts to pick up. Usually happens in the afternoon when the wind is coming right off the gulf. Also has a great club house with good food. Best part of both courses is that they are never that busy so you can potentially play and never run into another group. Have fun and book a early tee time. Can get really hot.
We have a house in WaterColor but I haven't played CC or Shark's Tooth. My favorite courses in the area in order: 1. Burnt Pine 2. Kelly Plantation 3. The Raven
St. Joe's owns all those resorts around there (Watercolor, Watersound, then parts of seaside, rosemary, seacrest, seagrove, grayton) The thing I disliked the most were the greens. Probably would have benefited greatly by playing with someone who knew the course, but I would hit the exact shots I want, and end up off the green. I hit what I thought was a perfect PW into 18. Ball lands about 15 feet past the hole. End up at the bottom of that hill in front of the green with a 35 yd pitch left. Also, completely agree that the holes feel similar after a while. Shark's Tooth is one of my favorite courses I've ever played. Nothing about it is too special, its just a really enjoyable golf course. I like the fact that there is no real rough, and that anything wide left or right is in the woods, for lack of a better word. We were there the first week of October last year, played each course twice and maybe saw 3 or 4 more groups the entire trip.
St Joes owns about 80% of the land from Port St Joe to Destin. Its ridiculous all that they own and what they are involved in.
Thanks for feedback. The house we rented is part of some deal so we can play Camp Creek and Shark's Tooth. Might end up just doing Shark's Tooth and then one that is closer to the house.
Regions was heavily involved with St. Joes growth because the Regions CEO at the time had a house in Seaside or somewhere near. They ended up losing a shit ton of money on that deal during the financial crisis.
Ha....Westy with the first couple jabs. It's Ryder Cup time. I love it!!! https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2...016-tiger-woods-lee-westwood?CMP=share_btn_tw Ryder Cup 2016: Tiger Woods may have ‘adverse’ influence, claims Westwood The first blow of the phoney war which always precedes a Ryder Cup has been landed by Lee Westwood, who has pointed towards the potentially “adverse” influence of Tiger Woods as a vice-captain of the USA. Woods has endured an infamously troublesome time as a Ryder Cup player but while injured this time, the USA captain Davis Love III asked him to become a member of the backroom staff. Westwood will play in the Ryder Cup for a 10th time at Hazeltinein nine days’ time, with Europe seeking an unprecedented fourth win in a row. “I don’t know what impact there will be from having Tiger around,” Westwood said to ESPN.com. “They [the USA] have always struggled to find a partner for Tiger that’s been successful. He could have an adverse effect in the team room. People have always seemed to try to do too much when they have partnered him. It might be different if he’s one of the vice-captains, you don’t know. “The captain is obviously building them up a lot and making a few interesting decisions. They have got a strong side and probably are favourites, but they haven’t won it for a while and they are playing in front of a home crowd. There is a lot of pressure on them. “That is going to keep building in the next week or so and by the time the Ryder Cup comes around, it is going to be pretty intense for them.” Westwood also referred to Love’s captaincy in 2012 at Medinah, and the handling of wildcard picks this time, as being potentially significant. Four years ago, Europe triumphed in memorable style as the hosts capitulated during Sunday’s singles matches. “I don’t know if something went wrong on the Sunday or the team didn’t play very well for some reason, but that will be in the back of their minds,” said the Englishman. Westwood was similarly questioning of Love’s decision, thus far, not to select Bubba Watson. The USA captain has one wildcard remaining, with Watson seemingly involved in a battle against Justin Thomas and Daniel Berger for that spot. “There seem to have been issues about team spirit and chemistry,” Westwood added. “Love has not picked Bubba Watson and I don’t know what that does for team spirit; he was first outside the points qualification and is No7 in the world.”

Honestly, don't think this one is personal. Phil is super analytical and outspoken on the course. Dustin doesn't like to think much and just likes to go with the flow. They naturally wouldn't work well simply because of the way their brains work.
DJ saying he doesn't pair well with Phil is hilarious. My buddy and I are always taking about how they're at at the opposite ends of the way they prepare/play.
