right outside the house just now, pretty happy about this one. to find an evolved one in the wild that's not only worth a shit IV-wise but also matters for gyms is pretty rare, at least for me. got a 2k one already with 87 IV and another 84 IV Growlithe that'll be 1400 CP when it evolves. probably need to catch about 10-12 more Growlithes to be able to max this Arcanine and evolve/max the other.
walked out of christmas mass last night and there was an 1800 something pinsir, sucks for IVs but it'll hold a gym or 2

Hatched an Omanyte today out of a 10k egg, didn't have one yet so was happy with it. Also have 2 more 10k's incubating right now. Got all 3 eggs within the last week #blessed
GoIV https://github.com/farkam135/GoIV you'll have to sideload that (hope you're on Android) but it's basically an overlay. launch GoIV, pick your level/team and hit start and it boots up Go on its own and adds a button in on your screen when you look at a pokemon. it also adds refining tools so you select that then input the info the game tells you (the sentence the team trainer tells you, top stat(s), and quality of stats) and it'll likely spit out an exact IV or get it to a range depending on some things as sometimes lower level pokemon can have a lot of IV possibilities at the same time.
also hatched Pichu today and a VW/SB Tangela. got 3 10k eggs cooking and found 2 wild Magmar which I've only ever hatched. too bad they're not worth a shit but oh well.
Finally got Santachu, all is well in the world. My 2km and 5km eggs hatched to weedle and sparrow lol.
Was my 3rd attempt. First time I ran oit of balls. 2nd time he got out of a few balls then escaped. Only took 2 balls and berries this time!
I've caught at least 15-20 and have gotten to the point where I don't even blink at seeing them anymore, even have evolved 2 Santa Raichus. I hardly ever saw normal Pikachus either. It's ridiculous how some areas have a fuck ton of them and some don't have them at all.
Have a Magmar "frequent spawn" spot like 3 blocks down the street at a park. Have racked up a few of them now, nothing deemed better than "decent" by the trainer though.
Finally got my ditto a few days ago from a pidgey. Took a great ball to catch so I figured something was up. Keep the faith...they do exist. Also have like 10 santa pikas.
I had sparing interactions with santa Pikachus before today, caught probably 7-8 since the event started but today I caught 10-12 alone and hatched the Pichu which has me at a healthy amount of Pikachu candy and got me my silver Pikachu medal (and silver Electric medal). evolved a normal Raichu the other day finally, hoping for a decent enough santa Pikachu to make a santa Raichu. my normal Raichu is nice at 89 IV (though Raichus still suck) but he was hatched. for all the 55ish Pikachu I've caught I think maybe 1 or 2 was in the 2nd best IV range (82-100 being best then it's like 64-82 I think). I can't catch a legit one of those at all. Stocked up big time for the starter event next week. bought even more extra item bag space, finally added a couple extra pokemon bag spaces. I really hope they're as plentiful as the stuff during Halloween was where you couldn't walk 50 feet without one spawning. also if you guys aren't aware they've got some special boxes for sale right now. Special Box – 10x Great Balls, 2x Incubators (250 coins) Great Box – 20x Great Balls, 2x Incense, 4x Incubators (550 coins) Ultra Box – 20x Ultra Balls, 25x Incense, 6x Incubators (1500 coins) if you don't care about Incense like me because even in a suburban area the spawns are ridiculous these days then the Special Box is your best bet and saves you 50 coins for those 2 Incubators and tosses in 10 great balls. I snagged 4 of these which combined with the event Incubators and the few more I had gives me enough Incubators for about 45 eggs. next week when the xmas stuff ends and the starter event begins they'll have a new set of boxes for sale with probably similar rewards. if you're someone who hatches a lot then snag a box or two now and save some coin along the way.
I've got 3 level 25 Jolteons, 2 level 20 Electabuzz, and a level 23 Raichu that I'm going to march down to my closest gym tomorrow and shit all over it because the entire gym is nothing but Water types. should be highly doable and I'll just bottom load the selection with the Jolteons. going to try and take the entire thing down from 9 to 0 since I just hit 25 and you get crazy amounts of shit and right now my bags are overfilled with gym items anyway. the others are trash but Jolteon is beyond legit now if you've got a Gyardos or Vaporeon bothering you, you just have to be on your dodge game since their HP isn't great but my CP2100 Jolteons can shred multiple 3000 Gyardos in a row.
what's that? a Snorlax? with Lick and Hyper Beam? why yes, thank you. haven't pumped him up yet because I was doing other things when he hatched but I'm pretty psyched. guess I found my permanent buddy.
need 1 more Abra and I can make this evolution happen and yea, fingers crossed. wish he mattered more in the meta but he's at least something you can chuck in the middle of a gym and not lose as a good attacker.
save it, he evolves in gen 2 into Scizor and will be an incredibly powerful attacker for gyms. he goes from Bug/Flying to Bug/Steel, the latter of which is good against Ice types and weak to little. he will be eaten alive by an Arcanine because Bug and Steel are weak to Fire but he's meant to be an attacker not a defender anyway.
park on my block has a kabuto nest that just started. haven't seen/caught one before tonight. 2 now. excited.
nests reset every 2 weeks at 7 PM EST on Wednesday so yea, just happened. you've got 2 weeks to make a Kabutops, should be easy. use https://thesilphroad.com/atlas to find other nests in your area. it's all unverified now because they just migrated but the spots don't change, just the pokemon that spawn there so just wait a day or two for confirmation from other users on what spawns there and go reap the rewards or just find where the nests are and go there yourself and see what's mass spawned.
read above about Scyther and Slowpoke gets a 3rd evolution in gen 2 that makes it a monster for gyms.
have kabuto and omanyte nests, and now have kabutops and omastar after spending an hour walking at both parks
damn, never even seen the silhouette of a Kabuto on the nearby. Seen like 2 Omanytes but never found them, did hatch one of those though
I've evolved 3 Gyrados and all 3 were twister/bite. So much rage I did catch a high IV snorlax with earthquake yesterday though
This my fear as I'm about to evolve my third one as well. Also got to evolve my first dratini into dragonite who had dragon claw. The rage has been real this week.
erm, DC is the best charge move it has as an attacker. Dragonite doesn't have bad movesets. it's either got really good attacking moves (Dragon Breath for quick, Dragon Pulse or Dragon Claw for charge) or really good defending moves (Steel Wing for quick, Dragon Pulse or Hyper Beam for charge) but even if you had a SW/DC that's still going to be good on defense. you've either got a really good attacker or defender but in general it's still a fucking Dragonite which means you're going to take it to all but a couple Pokemon (really it's just Lapras unless someone has a baller Cloyster or Dugong). the only thing close to as universally viable is Snorlax but Earthquake is a super weak charge move for attack or defense.
