honestly thought it was the best episode of the season. i am pretty stunned by it -- will need to rewatch later this week.
Something tells me Daemon and Cuntstruck are going to go at least a couple more rounds before this is all said and done
I was thinking about this as well. Khaleesi didn't fly all on all of them everywhere she went. They followed her up north while she was traveling by sea/land with Jon. Probably would kill the whole scam if the dragon was just circling the ship they got on all the way to Pentos, but theoretically I guess the dragon could find its way to him there.
the pacing of this show is very weird it almost feels like they are just trying to compress everything into one season
maybe a dumb question, but do we think laenor is completely done in the show or did they fake his death and send him across the narrow seas with the potential to return (with sellswords? who only care about gold? and his dragon?) at a later date when there is fighting? obviously they got rid of him so the princess can marry daemon but he still has the dragon and he still has lots of money, i would think
Guessing the time jumps are to establish the story. Aren’t the actors in the next episode the ones for the rest of the series?
I believe that is correct. That doesn't make this season better though. 2 time jumps in one season just feels compressed.
Listening to The Ringer podcast recap. They’re talking about how the show did a much better job than GOT in showing how big of a deal it is to connect with a dragon and become its rider. I definitely agree with that. The Aemond/Vhagar scene was far better than the Snow/Rhaegal one.

Imo we only see him again if it’s one of those random person finds him across the narrow sea and puts 2 and 2 together.
Laenor is a badass so can’t see anyone forcing him back but he’s not done. Love how that episode played out, master plan by Rhaneyra and Daemon
I’m loving the show and every episode is getting better and better. I will say I wish the Targaryen’s would maybe chill out on the whole fucking and marrying their own family thing.
I just think they needed to hit some major plot points as the characters grew older, but there wasn't enough story to keep them young any longer.

I’m glad they’re moving it along. Get to the major points in their lives. Sometimes GOT seemed to drag (there were also a ton more characters) Thought the episode was outstanding. Targs are so freaking weird.
had the same question as I'm watching live i interpreted her during the scene to have understood he was talking to rhaenya but changed my mind at the end when she said yes
The way they presented death from sickness/decay/old age was way more disturbing than is usually presented on TV. Hard to watch but really accurate. Incredible episode of TV
no. He was giving Rhaenyra the answer she asked for earlier in the episode. He thought alicent was her The aegon viserys was talking about was aegon the conqueror, not window wanking aegon.
I feel like the casting for Alicent's two boys in this round of aging was pretty bad. The younger brother now looks like he's 10 years older than the window masturbater
for reference - from awoiaf. I'd say Aemond looks pretty good. also for anyone who watched The Last Kingdom - that actor is good.
It didn't seem like the time jump this time around was 8-10 years though. That kid went from like a 12 year old to a 22 year old. The rest of the kids look like they aged 3 years. It's just disproportional casting. But reddit tells me that the actor they cast for Aemond has been good in other things and he seems like a huge character going forward so I guess just cast who you want for the part and go with it
I am just talking strictly on tv. Aemond was bigger than his brother when they had the other actors at the same age. Aemond was the better fighter. They’re both sick people. Just in different ways. also, not sure people are picking up the second born son theme from the show Daemon, aemond, vaemond, larys…. it’s very similar to the second sons in GOT.
I believe it was a six year jump. At the beginning of the episode someone mentions it’s been six years since Laenor was killed
