Man. Why on a Saturday when I just got home? This is gonna be fun. Let’s wait until Monday during the work week when it’s the proper time to educate
Yeah that’s gonna be a no for me dawg. I still find only having Kulinsi on hilarious, high probability him and Rogan only wanna try to bang Tulsi nothing else.
y'all its not rocket science "shock therapy" was an ideology nobody ever really implemented it. If someone tells you that shock therapy was implemented in Russia, and it failed, that person is a fucking dipshit. Their facts are fucked. Same with the other post-soviet transitions. This isn't me saying, "shock therapy was good!" this is me saying "shock therapy does not exist, has never existed."
Former is an extremely bad take. However you can at least form a coherent, albeit bootlicking and ahistorical argument around it. The former is just an ignorant fantasy that I dont even know how to engage with it.
I’m more of a shock the world guy. Which is why I always have a lineup of 5 different college baseball caps on my desk and make a big show about which one I’ll wear that day.
the economic liberalization processes were real, but "shock doctrine" is a set of conspiracy theories about those processes.
Who said it was a conspiracy? Those liberalization process along with the speed and recklessness they were implemented are what is commonly referred to as Shock Therapy.
i kinda remember the statement and it wasn’t ant-Semitic. Unfortunately, their explanation is too simplistic to explain why it wasn’t. Saying what they did leaves them open for criticism and makes it seem like the criticism again Omar was valid.
Actually it was antisemitic. She was making the point that AIPAC bribes politicians to support Israel. "All About the Benjamins". It absolutely leaned into some anti semitic rhetoric. She is correct that AIPAC bribes politicians. But her phrasing and framing was really bad/sloppy. She claimed she didnt know the trope, acknowledged she was wrong, why she was wrong and adjusted her framing going forward. It was a good apology! She's been more precise when criticizing Israel since. That's what you'd like to see from thoughtful people. Not doubling down. She was criticizing Israel, and money in our politics. She wasnt purposefully hating on Jews. What Rogan said had nothing to do with Israel and everything to do with Jews. It was extremely antisemitic. And Krystal, being the trashbag that she is, was too eager to just agree w Rogan, despite her clearly understanding that Omar was criticizing Israel, not Jewish people. She'd rather look edgy and say Omar shouldnt have apologized.
I’ve made way too many stupid jokes on here that I feel I don’t have the right to comment. I guess maybe I am mistaken because on here I’ve read that being “anti Israel” isn’t being anti-Semitic. I took her comment like you said as being anti US and Israel foreign policy and against bribery. That’s why I said I remember feeling it wasn’t anti-Semitic. I’ll say if I was wrong my bad. This isn’t an attempt by me to defend any anti-semitism or double down just an attempt to explain what I originally believed when she made the statement.
I wish there was a warning for the episodes where Felix is in a nihilistic mood. Nobody wants to listen to that shit. I’m a Chapo Reading Series guy (Rod Dreher updates are the best) Menaker’s Movie Mindset and when Matt talks History. It’s like Dan Carlin without the signature cadence but less factual errors and hypotheticals.
It is not antisemitic to criticize Israel. But because it's a jewish state, she got into a muddy area where she used phrasing that resembled some antisemitic rhetoric. "The jews are all about money and using it to bribe and control governments ect". Her criticism of Israel, and lobbying in general were accurate and valid. How she voiced them was the issue.
he is the least talented comedian I believe on the entire planet. Jews::money Italians::pizza brap brap
He finally opened his “comedy” club in Austin. My cousin who is trying to make it as a stand-up moved to Austin from Chicago after the covid lockdowns thinking Rogan was going to be this kingmaker for comedians and that it might help his career. So he worked the door at the club Rogan appeared at prior to opening up his own place, took every opportunity to kiss up to that piece of shit. Opening night at Rogan’s he’s denied entry and told no comedians are allowed. Which tracks because apparently Roseann and Rogan were performing that night.
Partially true. But i give him credit- dude is a Wharton grad and licensed CPA who was making bank at EY and at age 36 said fuck it to go after his dream. He’s finally starting to build a following and get booked. His mistake was thinking Rogan was going to put Austin on the map as a comedy town. I think he realizes now that was a mistake. I’ve encouraged him to continue developing his craft in Austin and when he’s ready, move to either NYC or LA.
Austin has (or had at least when I lived) a pretty good comedy scene that he really shouldn't need to suck up to that chode, it's more that starting a comedy career that late is damn near impossible since you basically have to grovel in front of open mics for years.
