Dempsey's goal vs Chelsea today http://watchsocceronline.blogspot.com/2011/12/dempsey-scores-in-1-1-draw-with-chelsea.html
Eddie Johnson has already been let go by Puebla. They didn't like his physical condition after not having played for the last 6 months and said he's not as fast as what they thought he would still be. http://www.mediotiempo.com/futbol/m...mpre-no-eddie-johnson-no-jugara-con-el-puebla
right move in my mind. if you get lucky like that and embarrass another goalie you don't gloat. could easily happen to him.
I understand that part of it. But at least smile, you just scored a goal in the EPL. Do something like in tennis, where you hold up your hand towards the other keeper in a "sorry about that" gesture.
Gonzalez loaned to Nurnberg and Jermaine Jones has been suspended for 8 weeks for stomping on Marco Reus.
Omar will only have the chance to play like 4 or 5 games before he has to return, but he's also able to train during their winter break camp and get acclimated. I think the Galaxy aren't selling him this window because they want him for the Concacaf Champions League.
Report: Sochaux eyeing Edu Maurice Edu is no stranger to being linked to a move away from Rangers, and Sochaux is the latest club hoping to pry him away from the Scottish giants. According to a report, Sochaux has made Edu its top midfield target for the winter transfer window. The French club had a bid worth an estimated $774,400 rejected already, but it remains interested in acquiring the U.S. international. Sochaux, which currently employs Charlie Davies, is in need of reinforcements as it currently sits in 19th place in Ligue 1. What do you think of Sochaux wanting to sign Edu? Would you prefer to see him stay with Rangers?
No wonder Rangers rejected that bid, they're better off keeping him one more season and letting him leave on free in that case. I'd say they'd probably want at least $1.5 million
@KristianRDyer Kristian Dyer League source tells me that EPL's Bolton has made a multi-million dollar bid for Red Bulls centerback Tim Ream. Negotiations ongoing. #RBNY
Yeah the $775k bid is a big time low ball. Rangers paid something like $4 mil for him back in 08, like you said they should be getting double what was offered.
I guess playing time is key, but hopefully that's just the first step in a move eventually to a big EPL team.
Omar Gonzalez, fresh off the plane and training with Nürnberg, was given a Bundesliga welcome by compatriot, and now teammate, Timmy Chandler in a crunching tackle — one that left the former with an injured knee. Though the extent of the injury is yet to be confirmed by the club, Gonzalez is seen pictured on the pitch in pain as a club physio examines his left knee. After months of USMNT fans calling for Gonzalez to be thrown into the January camp, the defender was finally called up by coach Jurgen Klinsmann, only for Gonzalez withdraw to complete a loan move to Nürnberg. Now, however, it remains uncertain how severe his injury may be and how long the defender could be out of action after only being with the team for a very short period of time.
What was supposed to be a winter during which Omar Gonzalez was going to take the next step in his career has turned into disaster. The Los Angeles Galaxy centerback tore his left ACL on his first day on loan with FC Nurnberg, and he has returned to Los Angeles to undergo surgery, according to Nurnberg's official website. Fresh off winning MLS Defender of the Year and an MLS Cup title, the 23-year-old Gonzalez was finally called into a U.S. national team camp by Jurgen Klinsmann for the first time. Before he could get started there, though, he got the opportunity to go to Nurnberg, where he was set to be on loan until Feb. 15. Instead of increasing his exposure as he enters the final year of his current contract, Gonzalez is set for an extended spell on the sidelines. The injury was a result of a hard tackle by U.S. international Timmy Chandler, and it came in Gonzalez' first training session with the club. There is no timetable yet for how long Gonzalez will be out, but his absence leaves a gaping hole in central defense for the Galaxy. Los Angeles resumes its 2011-12 CONCACAF Champions League run on March 7 with a first-leg quarterfinal match at Toronto FC, and the Galaxy begin their MLS Cup title defense three days later at home against Real Salt Lake.
If he gets a Work Permit, shows how much respect we've earned in the eyes of the UK. He's not really near the requirements needed, just two Gold Cup games. There's rumors that George John could be going to West Ham. Would be ideal since he could get half a season in the Championship and West Ham has a good chance of being promoted for next season.
Sporting Lisbon vs Porto is live on ESPN3 right now, and there was this awesome pic in a Portuguese paper today
An offer he can't refuse? Bolton to tempt Ream with deal worth 30 times his salary By Chris Wheeler Last updated at 11:00 PM on 12th January 2012 Comments (0) Share Mega-money: Tim Ream Bolton will offer Tim Ream 30 times his basic salary to become Gary Cahill’s replacement at the Reebok Stadium. Cahill’s £7million move to Chelsea is being held up over personal terms, but the England defender’s current £35,000-a-week deal is equivalent to the modest $55,000 Ream earned in an entire year with New York Red Bulls in the last Major League Soccer season. The 24-year-old US international is in line for a pay rise but nothing like the £20,000-a-week he can expect at Bolton if his £3m move goes through, with manager Owen Coyle insisting that it is not dependent on Cahill completing his switch to Stamford Bridge. ‘I don’t alter my targets in terms of whether Gary is here or not,’ said Coyle. ‘I have a picture in my mind of how I think I can develop the football club. We have to plan and that is what we are doing. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2085875/Bolton-tempt-Tim-Ream-deal-worth-30-times-salary.html#ixzz1jIxL9Jqj
Cancelling honeymoon = spending a lot of that increased salary on keeping the wife happy. Congrats either way, Tim.
John's deal explained by Brian Sciaretta: Loan is until March 1, and WHU have until then to make up their mind of they want to purchase him If they do, the contract will run from 2014-15 season with club option for one more year
Mexican government has seized Puebla's stadium and team bus. Not sure if this will effect whether or not they'll be able to continue in their season.
MLS has to let Ream go, the man would be stupid not to take essentially just over half his yearly MLS salary each week in the EPL.
Sounds like it's basically a done deal pending a work permit. NYRB would get 2/3 of the transfer fee and have to use $650K as allocation money out of that 2/3.
beautiful assist from Landon today, started on a Tim Howard throw that picked out Landy near midfield, dribbled a ways, then hit a perfect through ball that set up the goal, was a great play http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_...vers-clutch-assist-as-everton-ties-villa.html he played great today
