I see what you're getting at but have to respectfully disagree. Avon, Marlo, Tony Soprano, Dexter, these aren't "bad guys?" I mean I'll spoiler it and go into details if I need to but these 4 at least are definitely bad guys, regardless of how you want to rationalize it
We are talking about the lead not just any character. But, I will say that in The Wire there really wasn't a main lead but none of the characters were all good or all bad. The cops did shit that were underhanded and the criminals did some good. Life was just that, life. Dexter would not be half the show if it was simply about a serial killer. I have never watched The Sopranos so I can speak about that show. The discussion is not if he is evil the discussion is that he is not 100% evil. He is not the villain of the show he is not the hero of the show. He does not fit neatly into ether category. Trying to make him fit into one category is ridiculous. I never said that he does do what is in his best interest. I don't think either kills the other. I think like others have said that it is cancer that kills Walt. antihero a protagonist of a drama or narrative who is notably lacking in heroic qualities. A main character in a dramatic or narrative work who is characterized by a lack of traditional heroic qualities, such as idealism or courage.
like I said, I see where you're going with it, but to me there is a difference between a lead character who is an anti-hero and one who is a ruthless criminal either way, it's splitting hairs. I think we're both saying the same thing just to different degrees
Anyone think there's a chance JR winds up getting hooked, or od's, on some of SR's product? Or is that just to far out there?
i feel like something is gonna have to happen with him at some point. more likely he find out what his dad does.
I think so too. Enough to say I don't think WW is pure evil and leave it at that so we don't hijack the thread arguing (like you said) something we probably agree about.
Imo just the feeling of being badass and in control after taking other people's shit for so long. Your posts at the end of the last page were spot on analysis btw
Have you seen it from the beginning of the series? He's a pretty sick fuck I say this because I used to have your opinion when I had only seen a few episodes. But when I went back to the beginning and saw his whole backstory, how he "needs" to kill for his little urges, how he used to torture animals, etc. I was like ok this guy is as sick as the people he kills
I have seen every episode (including webisodes) read every book and I stand by my opinion that if the show was about a simple 100% evil serial killer it would not be as interesting.
I saw the last few episodes of the Doomsday Killer season, then went back recently and started watching from the beginning, and am now a few episodes into Season 2. So I am a long way from seeing every episode. Just saying once I saw the first season my opinion of him changed more towards "he's a sick fuck"
Yeah I've seen the entire series, and he's definitely gotten a little more violent over time, but in the grand scheme of things I don't think I'd call him a "bad guy".
His ego has became a big part of it. Like when he got drunk and was hinting to Hank that Heisenberg is probably still out there
I hope AT&T and AMC can work something out. http://www.businessweek.com/news/20...lions-of-viewers-in-fights-with-dish-at-and-t
Why would it feel bad to have the best television service out there and one that isn't currently having problems with AMC?
BB will be over by next year, you're good. edit: Ok I guess they're splitting the final season through 2 years, lame.
oops I meant Dish. So, from what I've gathered, I won't have AMC. Looks like I'll be torrenting/watching the show at friends' house. sucks.
90 second clip from the first episode of season 5 http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/07/02/breaking-bad-season-5-clip/
seriously. this wait is going to be killer. almost started a rewatch last night, but decided to go with another show instead. BB isn't the best show to fall asleep to
no, he meant that he's really interested in the cold open teased at in the article after reading that EW piece. specifically
You misunderstood. The article (where I watched the clip) says that this scene occurs right after the cold open, which is more (something) than the cold open to season two - the plane wreckage. I want to see that cold open.
BB season 5 SDCC poster. spoilering it because it seems to hint at what is about to unfold this season even though i think most assume it already Spoiler
Spoiler i guess we'll figure out rather early on who the fuck the old guy is, re: gus' dad/chile cartel
Spoiler That looks like the guy that saved Walt and Jessie in the junkyard with his knowledge of criminal procedure
Two questions: 1. What is that drawing of under the guys? 2. What does it say? It looks like "No Strife" or something like that ...
