It's a little bit lighting, but it was very light - and you're totally right based on the pic. Also, the kolsch has a coffee flavor...and it sort of works!? I like this place - good folks, and their beer is solid / sometimes really good.
crushed a mixed 6-pack of sessions this afternoon while doing a metric shit ton of yard work. now time to fire up the grill and drink more!
The Other Half hype train is real. 200 cases of an IIPA, with limits of less than a case per person, sold out within 2 hours. Got shut out, but they're releasing more in two weeks. Dat Mosaic doe. Zack Zedalis if you want that, I got you. If you want to wait, I got . . . someone else?
Brocktoon sent me a Bourbon Vanilla a while back that was incredibly good. Was chewy in a very good way.
Southern Brewing is opening for tours next Thursday and they have a chocolate kolsch that is delicious. I mean, I don't know if they're calling it that or not, but it tastes like chocolate and caramel.
Went to my store earlier to see what new stuff they had gotten in and since I buy from them so often the owner gave me a Winter Grind Coffee Stout by Mother's Brewing. Never had it but from looking around it looks like it was pretty generous of him to give it away
Such a great one. So I went back to brix today to replace the goose island glass that I bought yesterday because it was chipped. Sales person was happy to exchange it and gave me a second one free for my troubles. cdaysker it's yours.
Buddy won a ticket to the Wild Friendship tasting at Alagash. He just sent me this: His comments: Probably the best beer here. And lpk and beat and supp and fou are here.
Another great Jackie O's release -- starting to get bigger and lines are longer, but still an awesome time nonetheless.
nice haul. shit, it's hard to find Tropicalia now unless it's a weekend... thankfully you had a guide that showed you all of the places you needed to go.
Yep. First two places I went were completely out. Five points lumpkin and j's both had plenty though.
Well deserved Crank after another marathon day of studying. Thanks to the dynamic duo of CRon_T and Spaulding
They should age fine (though a store shelf isn't optimal). But NB flash pasteurizes la folie, so it won't really evolve in the bottle.
I had a 2014 about a month ago and it was solid. I never had one in 2014, though, so I can't really attest to how it aged. The 2015 is more sweet/sour than the vinegar/sour of 2014, to me.
I wish they wouldn't do that. I had an older bottle of La Folie that was before they pasteurized and it was amazing.
I get why they do it, and as one of the more commercially available sours on the market...I actually sort of appreciate it. That said, I get what you're saying. Seems like they could do more experimental stuff w/ their sours & barrel program. Seems like they just make too much damn money on the meh stuff they put out.
After the discussion in here about the Sixpoint Jammer, I texted my gf (she was at the store, and I'd seen it there earlier today) to see if she'd grab me a sixpack while she was up there. I sent a pic of what it looks like. She came back with Red Hook Long Hammer. Close
Women, man. My gf just got back from grocery shopping. I'm excited to see what I get to eat in place of the stuff I actually asked for.
99% of the time, mine does too. She acquired more KBS than I did. To be fair, I also told her it was tall and skinny-shaped. And it rhymes.
La Folie gets me every time. So excite to live in Colorado and get this on the reg for likely a cheaper price than I pay now.
Picked up some Love Child no. 5 from Boulevard Brewing that I'll be enjoying either tomorrow or at some point this week. Damn that shit ain't cheap.
How was that Boulevard saison? Contemplated buying it about an hour ago but didn't and went with the Love Child instead.
