Brian Cogman is writing episodes with a mindset that llittlfinger does not know. I hope, regardless of my feelings of the writers, that there is at least some continuity between all of them and the characters they write about.
The other guy said she walked in the room while they were having sex. This isn't a United States court system I don't think they require much in the way of proof.
Infinite ways? Ramsey's character is beyond well established by now. If the marriage was to happen, the wedding night was going to happen. And if Theon's arc is going to somewhat follow his arc in the book, he had to be put in a position like that to catalyze his actions. IMO, anyway.
Isn't it also just the prerequisite for the actual trial. Low burden of proof and then a real trial begins.
I honestly still don't get the book readers getting mad about Sansa. I haven't heard anyone talk about how terrible the scene was in the book and it was lazy writing, ect. If you want to say they've been building her up to not be a victim and they should have her strike back then fine but if you don't like it because an extra rape scene was unnecessary then be consistent and complain about both of them.
That scene has a large number of holes in it and people aren't patient enough to see if the writers fill them. Or possible don't believe the writers will fill them.
Hmmm. It seemed to me he was just going to use her like a whore and knew Ramsey was going to fuck her up this making his plan even better. That doesn't make sense if he is playing the game and doesn't know about the shit that a famously cruel person does.
I think "famously cruel" is relative. Sansa lived in the North for many years and apparently was unaware of Ramsey's reputation as well. So was Robb, as evidenced by the fact that he was unphased about Roose sending him to retake Winterfell.
The writer producer also confirmed that, for those suspecting Littlefinger might have known about Ramsay’s sadism, that Baelish was definitely ignorant of the situation. “The difference between the Ramsay Snow of the books and the show is the Ramsay of the show is not a famous psycho,” he said. “He’s not known everywhere as a psycho. So Littlefinger doesn’t have the intelligence on him. He knows they’re scary and creepy and not to be folly trusted and it’s part of a larger plan.”
Littlefinger should install wifi in his chopper so he can look at people's Wikipedia pages while he's zipping around Westeros.
Then the Faith militant didnt even need the prostitute they could of just said we believe you guilty so boom your in prison now. The main problem i have is she is the queen and 50 guys with clubs in robes shouldnt be able to arrest the queen. I thought it was dumb in the book and even dumber in the show. And about Sansa the problem i have with the storyline is since they cut fake arya why not just cut the entire fake wedding bullshit. We already hate the boltons we dont need another reason to want them dead. The writers said in season 2 they decided on this Sansa Rape plotline and were really looking forward to it.They did it for shock value which is lazy writing. I have never complained about the changes from the books in the previous season and the only reason im complaining now is because as a show watcher i am not as excited or as interested in these storylines. I dont care about the book comparison because they are completely different and to be honest im really glad they are so it doesnt ruin the books.
At least in the book Margaery had her own good reputation to reclaim after Cersei had tried to drag it through the mud. So that could explain why everyone was willing to let shit play out. Plus the faith militant is less of a complete joke in the books and there aren't really enough Gold Cloaks/Kingsguard around to do much about it. Her getting arrested in the manner she was for lying about her brother is beyond stupid.
The show has definitely made some atrocious missteps throughout its run, but they've definitely improved in some areas. - Arya & Tywin at Harrenhall - Expanded Bronn - No Penny - Improved Stannis. Family man, grammar nazi, one true king of Westeros
Show Tywin, Show Bronn, Show boobs, Show Hound, Show Pod, Show HotPie, Show Hound/Arya combo, Show Jaime/Bronn combo, Show Brienne, Show Margaery, Show QoT all improvements IMO. Lots of bad/worse characters but casting and acting not a problem for the most part.
Casting has hit on the vast majority of the characters and the writing before this year has been pretty great. It's why I really really hope that fat fuck can get the next book out before next season so they have more source material to go on. The fourth and fifth books were by far the worst in the series so I knew going in this was going to be the worst season. God knows what next season will look like if they don't have a new book to use.
Show Tywin is more likable (primarily because Dance is a boss) but I think book Tywin is a better character
I am Sansa Stark of Winterfell... This is my home and you can't frighten me here. And then, rape. And "Lying to your husband on our wedding night. THAT would be a bad way to start a marriage." Rape Great
So back to better topics- do we think Jon will get got this season? Or will that be an early next season thing...it can't really be a cliff hanger since everyone knows Kit and would know he's filming.
I'm hoping it happens in Episode 9 and they show him coming back in Episode 10. Honestly, I don't really care if it's via warging into Ghost, Melititty coming back and dropping some Red God magic on him, etc.
Not to belabor this topic, but I just can't get on board with the "lazy writing" view. The scene wasn't to increase our hatred of the Boltons unnecessarily; it was to act as a catalyst for Theon. You can disagree with the scene, its effectiveness, its need, whatever...but I just don't see how it equates to laziness on the writer's part.
I was hoping the final scene of this season would be him coming back...eyes opening blue, or something like that
If they wanted to use that scene to get theon back they should have had him snap out of it and save her I wouldn't have complained. I'm not gonna complain about it anymore though until the season ends just to give them a chance to let it all come together. I have been complaining about this season but only because I love this show it is my favorite show and I want it to stay that way. I still have hope for this season after getting over my first reaction.
speaking of, where the fuck is Ghost? I get that they've blowed all the cgi money on dragons so we get no whites, but fuck we can't even get a direwolf. They could have atleast made Mel give Jon the keep Ghost close warning since they made her leave with Stannis.
Yeah, have we seen Jon warg into Ghost once in the show? I ask because the theory about him warging into Ghost after he gets stabbed will look real suspect to showfags.
even though this season has been a bit of a drop in quality for me I still think things are setting up for a really good finish, especially considering the names of the last two episodes.
The other things that sucks about losing the Riverlands plot are the tales of Nymeria terrorizing the countryside with a huge pack of man eating wolves. That and the fact she pulled LSH out of the river during a wolf dream.
Orell. And I still have to think them purposefully showing him warging into his eagle to escape death was not a meaningless consideration, with regard to Jon and Ghost.
so why not allow Jon to have wolf dreams? They don't even have to show the dreams if its to much for their production crew; even though they aren't really using cgi for the direwolves, they could just let Jon tell Sam about his wolf dream. Atleast that way they are laying the foundation to Jon warging into Ghost later this season and reminding show watchers that except for GW & Lady the direwolves are still around.
From talking to show fags who usually gets the fantasy drama they are able to enjoy this show because other than the dragons there isn't any magicky stuff. Probably the other reason that they drop things like dire wolves though it doesn't explain Bran's scene as a pirate of the carribean. Honestly, what was a worse scene bran v pirates of the Caribbean or sandsnakes vs boy band Bron/Jaime?
I dont see how they couldnt have just used wights like in the books for that. Unless producing skeletons was a hell of a lot cheaper, but still
From ASOIAF wiki(from house of the undying): Glowing like sunset, a red sword was raised in the hand of a blue-eyed king who cast no shadow. They go on to post: "The blue-eyed king with no shadow is obviously Stannis, and the red sword is his so-called “Lightbringer." That could be Jon as well correct?
