Yup at the WCC. They also had everyone getting their Peachtree Road Race numbers at the WCC today as well. My wife walked up and said she saw a very large group of people smoking outside and she was like WTF. She figured it out quick.
Shot off a couple of the mortar fireworks last night.... Good lord that shit was loud and big....fuckers were legit
I called off the Peachtree this morning. Looking like a great decision on my part. I was downtown picking up my bib yesterday and walked through the AA conference by accident. Thought it was some church thing. AA makes a lot more sense. Those people looked ROUGH.
Dear Atlanta Mainbros, Just ate at the nook with the commoners and got the totchos because carbs don't count when you're in a different area code than your gym. I'm going to force feed myself health when I get home. PS fuck road races.
Finished it a while ago as well. Fuckers paused the race just as my group got to the start line because of lightning.
you were probably in my group, we had F but showed up late so think we were running with M? Anyways we got literally right up to the starting line and they said 30 minute delay for lightning. They tried taking everyone to the mall...me & my gf said screw that and just started running.
Haha yep, we were M. We didn't go all the way to the mall, but we did circle back around and start 30 mins later. I wanted so badly to just take off like you did. Were you able to run it pretty smoothly? Any idea if your time will count? They told us they turned off the electronics at the start line to start the timers when they had the delay.
Yea they did not register my time. I was wondering if that was it or if I went around the starting gate. Couldn't remember. There was no thunder/lightning. Just downpour of rain. My shoes got pretty heavy but other than that the run was easy. Better than the 90 degree + humidity ATL is known for. Piedmont look destroyed.
Gonna have to re-sod it for the 3rd time in 3 years. Ouch. I was right behind yall. I'm pretty sure your time will count. Bet they were just trying to scare yall.
You were like two blocks from my house and you didn't even warn me. We totally could've met up at the Publix and fought.
I'm doing push-ups in the Ted right now. Be on the lookout for a jacked looking Blart guy on your front doorstep.
Future mrs dawgonit told me we were going to a concert/open bar at the W in midtown. Turns out it's the W in buckhead. Last time I let her make plans.
Needs more mixed use residential along with the above the mentioned. Really dislike the Post MF project, kinda suprised we haven't seen more affordable apartments go downtown. hope to see a condo project downtown, think that would signal and mean a lot to go along with the underground redevopment and Georgia State's growth. And then a casino a mile away from higher education. Bottom line, need people to stay after business hours.
Was just leaving a friend's apartment in Fuckhead a little while ago. While waiting for Uber, some bro getting out of a cab in a Josh Hamilton t-shirt jersey felt the need to chat it up with us. Dude was perplexed when I told him I was going to Midtown because I live there, and even more perplexed by the presence of my girlfriend. This is literally why I hate Buckhead. Also, dude felt the need to give daps to my Uber driver, much to his confusion.
Brewhouse was cool and suitably packed, but who the hell sent me to an Arsenal bar? Also, Midway Pub is fun. Identical in feel to Liberty in Tally. U fucking S fucking A.
The goal for Parklife music festival in its second year: Go big. Or, at least bigger, as the event moves from its initial home at Atlantic Station to the Promenade at Piedmont Park. “Moving to a legitimate green space like Piedmont is huge and associating it with an event called Parklife makes the most sense,” said Andrew Hingley, the talent buyer at Eddie’s Attic who created the event last year with regional concert promoter Bowe O’Brien. Jason Isbell headlines this year’s event. Photo: Melissa Ruggieri/AJC The 2015 version of Parklife will take place at the park Oct. 18 (gates at 2 p.m.) with an Americana-heavy lineup topped by Jason Isbell that also features Strand of Oaks and Natalie Prass. Additional acts will be announced soon. Tickets to the all-ages Parklife are on sale at 10 a.m. July 10 atwww.parklifefest.com and www.ticketmaster.com. An AJC pre-sale (password AJC) begins at 10 a.m. July 8. General admission tickets are $45. A VIP upgrade, which includes a special viewing area, private restrooms and additional bar options, is $125. At last year’s all-day event, which was headlined by buzzy British upstart Jake Bugg and attracted a crowd of about 1,600, Bowe commented that, for Parklife’s initial outing, it was “a great starting point.” Hence the move to Piedmont Park in an area that can accommodate about 4,500 and offers the convenience of MARTA and a parking garage with several hundred spaces. Hingley is enthusiastic that “the stars aligned’ to attract Isbell, who hasn’t played a headlining date in Atlanta since 2013 (he was part of the massive lineup of May’s Shaky Boots festival in Kennesaw). The former Drive-By Truckers member releases his fifth solo album, “Something More Than Free,” on July 17. For more information about the event, visit www.parklifefest.com.
Anyone know of a decent tailor/alteration shop in the westside/west Buckhead area? Someone that does good work but doesn't charge an arm and a leg.
