since there isn't a "decent beer thread" bought the Fat Tire and Friends 12 pack yesterday without really looking at it. was thinking it was NB's version of Beer Camp. anyway, turns out it's just for Fat Tire. regular fat tire and 5 different collaborations with other breweries on the base beer. so anyway, the pale with Reingeist is pretty good. hoppy with Firestone Walker was also nice. Funk with Allagash was meh. Wild by Avery is really refreshing. haven't tried the "sour green apple" (which sounds terrible) or the regular fat tire (I know how it tastes, motherfucker.)
Did not enjoy this trip. I fucking hate the southwest, it just doesn't do anything for me. I had some stuff from a Tucson brewery Dragoon I think that was pretty good.
Tucson is pretty much the worst place unless you are retired living in the foothills on a golf course.
What up beer fam, been a while since I posted.. incoming brews that I've had as of late. Spoiler'd for multi pics & sizes Spoiler The great hudson sent this care package about a month or so ago and I've steadily been working on it & sharing. Some others.... Not much more that I found online about this, but apparently LCD Soundsystem had Brooklyn Brewing make this beer for them so they could have throughout the tour and at events. It was a light brew, prob a lager or pilsner. Really good, no label or anything, just the custom date stamp shown. We had some at Coachella this year and my buddy brought a case of it home with him. We finished the case during a (long) game of RISK: Game of Thrones edition. Gold Medal winner, from Santee, CA Stillwater x Other Half collab Insurgente flight at Blind Lady Ale House in SD La Cumbre Project Dank, one of my faves
So I'm expanding my beer drinking and need some advice on styles/brands to try. I'm not a fan of very hoppy beer or super dark like Guinness. I've tried a couple lighter darks or I guess ambers that I liked.
I'm going to ignore the hoppy comment and ask if you've ever had Sierra Nevada Pale Ale? or Fat Tire? This to me are like beginner beer cunting beers
I can't remember if i had Sierra Nevada and no to Fat Tire. I had a Yazoo Pale Ale last night that I didn't like at all. As far as hoppy goes, I just don't like extreme flavors in my beers, I enjoy a more smooth, mellow taste. Maybe too hoppy was the wrong wording, I'm a rookie.
sounds good. well page 1 has list of users and I see that southside & THEBLUERAIDER are from TN. I cant check out seekabrew.com from work, but that will give you a lot of suggestions as well.
Duvel, North Coast Pranqster, Oskar Blues Momma's Little Yella Pils I've found all 3 to be good intro beers to very anti hop people. Also Bell's Oberon, Good People Bearded Lady, Sweetwater Road Trip
I fucking love Bearded Lady, Freakness got me some without even asking if I wanted some on her trip to grocery store today You gone to Hop City and got any Catwaba yet
Stopped by there today, didn't grab any Catwaba, I'll wait and see reviews first. Grabbed Tangerine Enjoy By 7.25.16, RuinTen, their last Westbrook Leopold and Hoptimum
Google tells me the best breweries are Blackfoot River Brewing, Lewis & Clark Brewing, and Ten Mile Creek Brewing.
anything from sun king. Upland is from Bloomington but they have a large distribution and popular beers. Triton Brewing is good too. Don't know where you are from, but if you aren't from the midwest, three floyds distribution is decent in indy and three floyds is the best in the region.
Pabst Old Tankard Ale (based off of a recipe from 1937) is a surprisingly tasty English Bitter. And cheap. I see myself drinking a lot of this.
Has anyone had the Jolly Pumpkin/Revelry "Strange Islands" collabo? Sour saison with foraged ingredients from sea islands off the coast of Charleston
Stock photo of what is in my fridge. Picked up a few each of MO, Another One, Lunch, and Beer I from the Maine Beer Company yesterday when I went to Maine.
I give the new Belgium fat tire collaborations an a for effort, but the couple had have been pretty meh.
This was sitting in the singles at the grocery store. It's in the 60's today. Fuck it. Porter it is. I really like this.
Had some brown ale from a Jacksonville brewery last night. Was a little watered down. Can't remember the name of the brewery though.
Stopped at Jockamo Pizza in Indy. Def a must try it was fucking awesome. Had the Cheese Louise with 5 cheeses, bacon, pepperoni, bacon and red onion..... On the beer front I tried a pale ale from Sun King and a Irish Red from Tin Man both were very good.
