Maisy our Maltipoo always has nice firm poops. Her last few have been soft, not quite diarrhea, but this morning there were a couple drops of blood in it. Wife has taken her and a stool sample to the vet. Nervous.
Hopefully nothing big. Nymeria is constantly going from firm to soft and back. Even with her diet staying the same. Think it's a lot to do with her anxiety especially with all the loud construction going on behind us now.
She's at the vet now. Maisy's poop is just always firm. She only has diarrhea when she's sick and this is the first time we've ever seen blood in it. She's acting completely normal but we would rather be safe than sorry. Hopefully its just a bug or something she ate.
Riverview Animal Clinic on 280. They tested her poo, didn't find any parasite bacteria or anything. Gave her an IV because she was dehydrated, gave her some antibiotics and some special food and said to call back if she doesn't get better.
I think Moose (our Great Dane) could benefit from that more than Maisy. Moose's poops have never been as firm as they should be since he was born. Unless Maisy is sick, her poops are firm as fuck. Going to try adding it to Moose's food and see if it can help him firm it up
Fiber is really a magical thing...it helps to soften when it's too hard and firm when it's too soft. I think every dog and man can benefit.
I give Luna that fiber powder stuff every now and then. She will have a little bit of blood in her soft poop very rarely but it is usually after she eats/chews on sticks. Doesn't act differently or anything.
Really incredibly awesome dogs. The new gal is 5 and sleeps in perfect symmetry to my wife-- I'm on my back, wife on right side, head on chest, dog on left side, head on chest.
That's awesome. My wife has banned our Pyr from all sofas and beds. The dog used to ignore her and would be on the sofa every day when I got home from work when she was young. Now we have kids and my wife stays home with them so the dog is usually content with following them to whatever room they are in and plopping down and sleeping which is 95% of her existence. The other 5% is going apeshit at the mailman, UPS/FedEx guy, or anyone else who walks by the house
My cousin (she's basically my little sister)'s dog died today. 16 years old. She's not taking it well, understandably. Dog was a little asshole but she's had her since kindergarten.
i am going to chapel hill for the weekend and my parents are out of town so i had to drop paige off to be boarded for the weekend :(
I don't know what kind of kennel you took her to but alot of those places are like a frigging spa. Plus you get to see her be all excited when you pick her up which is always great
Fuck them. My Great Dane puppy is currently one annoying little shit but I wouldn't get rid of him for the world.
Those paws are so massive About five years ago I was dogsitting some Great Danes and while walking them around Percy Warner Park an Asian lady pulled her car to the side of the road and asked if they were miniature horses
That is an amazing picture, so much going on in it. Tiny dog with a basketball, super fat dog on the prowl, chic with rain boots and sweats, black dog drying off, Leslie Nielsen look-a-like, old dude with khaki cap possibly looking at flip phone and to top it off a lesbian in an Oregon shirt.
Ordered some off Amazon today. Was cleaning up Moose's poops from the last few days (lazy I know) and they were almost all pie shaped, hopefully this firms him up. Maisy's poops are back to be solid as fuck.
My gf said that her parents think their blue healer got poisoned by someone. Her dad will in fact kill someone if they did.
And yeah their dog just died. Said just started having convulsions and died then blood came out of mouth and nose. Fuck.
Apparently another one of their neighbors had the same thing happen lately. They think it's some teens setting out antifreeze
Oh yeah. If he finds out who did it he will probably kill them or do something drastic. They live like an hour away from the nearest paved road or street light out in the hills where people just go missing or have accidents.
