Yes, they are. You can definitely find one for less than $500 in that range, but I don't know of any actual "deals" right now. FYI, I don't think they make Plasmas smaller than 42 anymore. I know there were a couple a few years ago. Probably have to go LCD at that size.
I don't know much about tv's but is this a good deal? http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=A4565383&~ck=baynoteSearch&baynote_bnrank=1&baynote_irrank=0
don't need 1080 on a 32" set, save the money on 1080 and add more inches. idk about that market value of $500, a 1080 32" LCD Vizio is very much inferior to a 720 42 Panny plasma. according to a google search they are about the same price. so to me that's not a great deal, that TV should be $300 to begin with when comparing sets ... http://www.google.com/#hl=en&ds=yt&sugexp=ldymls&pq=state+farm+commercial&xhr=t&q=720+panasonic+plasma&cp=20&qe=NzIwIHBhbmFzb25pYyBwbGFzbWE&qesig=vrjNec3DXjX4VPdcCjUr2Q&pkc=AFgZ2tmjA0_K4ym-OYpc6dId5HOmlJD2Dh1wF3ZnvP_p9tldDsaYIcs7Y0wag8BE8hMY5zaSiPjdyK0UtEXnaaxz_evvZkliHw&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbo=u&tbm=shop&source=og&sa=N&tab=vf&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=bd28ab17911792c3
it's a waste of money on a 32" set. if you're buying with a budget it's a good way to get a name brand name and add some inches ... if you're buying a big TV 50+ inches for sure you go 1080 ...
42 is the cut off. Smaller you go 720, bigger you go 1080. Once you hit 50 1080 becomes a must. You could get away with it 42 but after that it suffers.
Best TV I can get for around $400? Just looking for something to put in my bedroom, nothing special. I have my 42" in the living room.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Philips-47-LCD-HDTV-1080P/10965944?findingMethod=rr Yeah, this one looks nice. Peep this in person, I'd pay the extra for 7 more inches
looks extremely nice, 47 is big as hell tho? too big for a college students apt bedroom? also apparently philips tv's have a problem of messing up after 2 yrs but from what i read most every company has some issues should i be worried about this at all? Thanks guys
I'm in the market for a 46" LCD with 120Hz/1080p, wall mountable. Anyone have any advice or recommendations?
^^ http://www.circuitcity.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=604847&sku=L49-4602%20RB%20E check this bad boy out... what do you guys think of refurbished tho?
Everyone is saying it is, but I can't find that on there anywhere. If it is new, it is a deal. If it is refurbished it really isn't.
Thoughts? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+Factory-Refurbished+58%22+Class+/+1080p+/+600Hz+/+Plasma+HDTV/2009254.p?skuId=2009254&id=1218305659266 I don't need any internet connectivity or anything like that.
i don't know enough about refurbs to give an assessment, but for the size/hz/picture quality and being that it's a Samsung that looks like a good deal. i bought a model with the exact same specs on black friday, though a panasonic, paid that price exactly and haven't seen it that low since ... by comparison though this is the Panny model i bought, considering they both have 1080 p, 600 hz w/ the same inches i'd say that's a very nice deal (again, w/o any knowledge or experience w/ refurbs) http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-TC-P58S2-58-Inch-1080p-Plasma/dp/B003924UA2 i assume you can get a full warranty just in case?
the link was to best buy, says factory refurb but idk if that means Samsung did it ... if he can get a full warranty could be worth the risk. price is right but still refurbed ...
$1462 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LU1N2Y/sr=1-2/qid=1307835123/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me=&qid=1307835123&sr=1-2&seller= Good/bad deal?
personally i'm not down with internet apps, just drive the price up and i would never use them. 3D is an extra feature i wouldn't care to pay for as well. not sure how good LG plasma is compared to Panny/Samsung ... you typically hear about those two brands first. however, i linked a 58" 1080 p Panny Plasma w/ no 3D for roughly the same price ... so with that in mind looks like a great offer IMO ...
Yeah, internet and 3D are things I don't care about at all, but if it has it, I'll take it I guess. Oh well, it's a long time til September.
Realize though that the TV's with best picture quality have those things as they are the higher end sets. I bought a Panasonic with all that shit because it was rated as having a very good picture.
I just switched from a 50'' plasma to a 55'' led 240hz Why the fuck do "fast" scenes look so jittery? Everything looks like it's moving in fast forward during action scenes. Is this normal?
i would argue if you are getting 1080 p panny plasma on 50+ inch you're getting a very nice set regardless. 3D and internet apps are a luxury to me, just depends on the budget really ...
off the cuff answer would be 600hz refresh vs 240 but i don't think good LEDs should have any motion problems especially @ 240. could be a settings issue ...
http://www.amazon.com/LG-Infinia-55LW6500-55-Inch-Included/dp/B004OVEVP6/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1307846416&sr=1-1 That's what I'm thinking. I read somewhere that the TV's "true motion 240hz" can cause something like I'm describing. I'll try to disable it (not sure if that's possible) and see if that fixes it.
Brand's don't mean they are always a great picture. If you are getting a lower level line from a brand the quality isn't going to be as good and may not be that great depending on what you are comparing it to.
