like Jpripper88 said, you need to just set time aside and watch the episodes. usually i'm like you and multi-task but with shows like BB, they're too good to not be paying attention. and if you're missing major stuff like question 1, you're missing a whole lot more. what do you mean "they"? obviously (well, not if youre not watching) some people were in on it. the guy who committed suicide and lydia are the 2 that we know. but as the president (ceo?) said to hank, we're not sure if it was just those 2 or if it went elsewhere in the company.
this. i mean, think about who she is/was: the goody two-shoes wife of a kind and wildly intelligent man who, even though he is underachieving financially, is a husband/father of the year-type. then he gets diagnosed with cancer. and over the course of the next few months he becomes Heisenberg and makes her an accessory to it all. yeah her naivete and stuff like that gets annoying, but that's only because the viewer sees everything that goes on.
I think a lot of it is people that really are looking for shit entertainment like Transformers, but want to seem like they enjoy shows like BB. They want the explosions, shoot-outs, and tits, but don't really care if the story is interesting or not. They pretend with something like BB because of its acclaim, but all the while complain that every character that isn't killing, being killed, or naked is ruining the show.
I don't get the impression that ppl complain about BB b/c of a lack of kills, explosions, and nudity. The show has never been about that. I just think people hate Skyler b/c she seems like an insufferable cunt who is also pretty stupid.

yeah i just moved into my new place two weekends ago and i work an hour away from home right now so i haven't really felt like doing shit when i get home, after i go workout and make dinner. by the time that gets done it's like 8:30 and I had a wedding this weekend so my only time to do shit has been on Sundays getting my apartment together. inexcusable, but everything is set up now so i'll have more time to stop everything and watch it.
I think the people that can't appreciate the non-violent characters in BB or a number of similar shows can't appreciate them because they don't really want them or a good show/story. They want action and all action and very little substance IMO. You see the same in people discussing Boardwalk Empire. These people don't really want a story. They want explosions and death and don't really care if there is anything behind it, but won't admit it, so their excuse is they don't like the characters that are actually creating the story and adding depth to the main characters. I don't think Skyler is an insufferable cunt or stupid at all. She has had her life flipped upside down and has no clue how to cope with it. The character has been great and I think as realistic as I can imagine. Marie I can understand hating because she is as you describe, but that is entirely her role and personality. Skyler is an "insufferable cunt" (in some eyes) because all this is out of nowhere and she is battling with how to deal with it, against the character some people want to see do nothing, but kill people and cook meth. I think Skyler is one of the best supporting female characters in a drama series.

Jpripp- I see your point about some people not liking that type of character ruining their drugs/violence/etc. but that is not why I don't like her character... Last season she was pretty gung ho about the whole deal. Going around scouting places where they could launder money, threatening her old boss then paying him off to keep the meth making a secret and now she is a total basketcase? Just seems like her character has gone too far. Why all of a sudden is she losing her shit when she was all about it last season...aka 1 month ago in show time? I guess you can say she's scared of the violence and for her life and her children. But to that I would say then why did she go along with it in the first place? If she was gonna act like this then she should have never gotten involved. She should have taken her children and left. It's not like she didn't know that violence and drugs go hand and hand. What did she expect?
I think she had convinced herself that it would work fine for them and there would be no problems. Later finding out how Walt had to kill Gus was a wake up call for her and she realized she got in way deeper than she should have
I think Junior has been dealing Walt's meth at his hs not knowing his dad cooked it. His drug dealer name is Flynn and the cerebral palsy deal is all an act to keep the police off his trail. Walt is going to find out about it and eventually will kill Flynn for dealing on his turf. Flynn will lose the drug battle to his dad after Walt uses his greatest weakness against him: Spoiler Bacon.
Why? Because now she knows that Walt is killing people to do it. Because she got caught up and Beneke got paralyzed because in connection. Because Walt basically threatened her life. Because she has no idea who her husband is anymore. Because her son believes she is a bitch and his Dad is great because he doesn't know the truth. She could go along with just him making meth and them getting rich off of it, since she was already complicit before, but now it is a whole new ballgame Basically: And I understand not liking Skyler, but the people hating her and wanting her dead because she is impeding Walt from going balls out are the ones I am talking about. I think everything her character has done has been well thought out by the writers and pretty realistic for the situation she has been thrust into.
She's dead one way or another. Now that she appears to be the main person fucking up Walt's operation, she has to go. People who stand in Walt's way are typically not long for the world.
Skylar just needs to watch goodfellas and learn more about being the wife of a criminal instead of just being a rampaging bitch all the time.
Personally I like having characters that build the show, I don't want all explosions and meth and killing. I fucking hate Skyler. I think she does help the show though. Just don't like her. Before any killing to her knowledge she was telling Walt how awful he was while cooking the books for Beneke and fucking him. Cunt.

Youre claiming the goodfellas wouldnt teach her to be a good criminal wife and the only reason you would say that is because karen sort of sucked at it. Therea quite a long scene in goodfellas where she lays down a lot of the ground rules. Theres even more in the book that didnt make it to the movie Plus even karen is a way better mob wife than skylar

Few things I just read that I missed in the ep last night...love when Gilligan throws these things in: 1. the seconds hand on the watch counted 50, 51, 52 2. Skylers mug that she was ashing into reads "Danger, entering Area 51" 3. The final sound after the watch ticking is a gun cocking
Has anyone else noticed its always darker than hell in the White Household? Im sure its intentional symbolism for how bad it is between Walt and Skylar, but fuck I can barely see shit in those scenes.
I refuse to care about Skylar. She fucked her boss while Walt was going through cancer treatment, what a cunt. And she did the initiating too. Plus you know she had to have been fucking him before too. That cunt can die. Plenty of other great characters on the show to keep it great.
