NFL draft twitter has made me hate the draft process. So many dipshits with a Twitter account trying to be that stupid piece of shit Matt Miller
It’s weird that sports accounts still post these videos with this type of caption. We see guys do this every year now, and he’s making a practiced throw in a rehearsed workout against air. It’s bigger news if he can’t make that throw. Zach Wilson went viral for a tougher throw.
you need to know that there is no way in hell that Brian Kelly is watching any football on Sundays. He is way too busy doing other things in typical Brian Kelly fashion he is talking like a politician so he just wanted to compare his qb to mahomes regardless of the fact that mahomes is 225 pounds and when he says that he is going to get the ball out to his playmakers it’s Kelly taking some credit for Daniel’s success.
Meh. I don't expect him to be rational or super honest in that setting. He should stump for his guy like that. Mahomes just seemed like a really weird pull for that specific conversation.
Yes, a better comp could be kaepernick but hé won’t say that. What he did is ok but it doesn’t sound sincère at all
This draft will get wild if Daniels goes 2. The Vikings are going to go full Herschel to get Maye then. It sounds like their trade hold up is the Patriots and Cardinals still want to be able to secure one of Harrison, Nabers, or Odunze as they likely won't be there at 11. A third trading partner will be needed it sounds like. The Vikings don't get that lucky, so my expectation is still McCarthy at 3/4 with Maye still at 2.
Anyone who passes on Maye that isn't getting Williams will regret it IMO. That UNC team wasn't shit without him.
Wonder what the Bucs would get from the Commanders to trade out of 26. Bucs have 26, 57, 89 & 92 while Commanders have picks 36, 40, 67, 78 & 100 in the first 3 rds. Our biggest needs (iOL, LB, CB, 2nd TE) can easily be addressed in that range. Would love to have 3 2nd rd picks.
The variance in opinions on Daniels and Maye from internet/TV folks who I generally believe to be pretty good with QBs is pretty crazy. Seems like just about everyone is in some level of agreement on what Williams and McCarthy are, but a lot of the internet folks talk about Maye/Daniels like it's an either/or thing. A lot of the people who are highest on Daniels seem lowest on Maye, and vice versa.
Had an appointment this morning before work so I saw Riddick talking. He is all about Daniels. In my opinion he went out of his way not to bash Williams but definitely likes Daniels more. He did say Maye has a rocket.
Riddick is weird before he draft. He definitely loves Daniels, but he also talks in riddles and never really says anything of substance on a lot of these guys. And maybe that's to avoid being critical? I don't really know. I know Orlovsky has said Daniels is his top guy and Maye needs to sit for at least 1 year, probably 2. JT O'Sullivan has been pretty rough on Maye and really likes Daniels. Then I listened to the QB pod on The Athletic with Brugler, Tice and Mays where Tice is all in on Maye, Brugler is really high on him, and both of them seem to think Daniels is closer to JJ than Maye. Maybe that's just a weird sample, but I guess it shouldn't surprise me that QBs are polarizing leading up to the draft.
Tice took Maye over Williams the other day in a mock draft he did with Mina. He's a big big Maye guy I've gotten to the point now where I just think people are overthinking the Williams pick and are trying to talk themselves out of it.
There are people who say they like Daniels or Maye over Williams, but almost all of them still really, really like Williams. They just love the other guy a little more and can say it for attention. I've been pleasantly surprised at the lack of weird Williams takes so far in the process from the mainstream folks, at least, but I guess JJ has taken up a lot of that QB talk oxygen to this point so no one has had to try to shove Williams content down our throats.
Agree on Riddick but it was almost like he really didn’t like Williams at all but didn’t want to say it to be wrong or bash him. It was interesting
After all that bullshit last year with Stroud not sure how many of these people's "expert analysis" I trust on any of this shit
I don't get a whole lot of Riddick content any more because almost all of it comes on shows like Get Up or interviews with media people I don't like, such as Dan Patrick or Rich Eisen. But I think Riddick generally goes out of his way to try to sound like a super smart Football Guy without actually saying the kinds of specific words about a player/coach/org that people can throw back in his face that allow him pretend like he was right in the end.
As someone who was fully in the Stroud >>> Bryce camp, I don’t remember any of this. What were the worst on air takes?

One agency told NFL teams to straight up skip the cognative tests after all the shit Stroud got for it last year https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...r-after-c-j-strouds-s2-test-drama-per-report/ I'm shocked folks forgot about all of this
what are our Ladd McConkey thoughts? His tape is really impressive, more so than just watching him play for Georgia these last few years.
I get why people are very sensitive to stuff like this and don't blame anyone for calling it out. But we also can acknowledge sites like these aren't mainstream things. And the majority of mainstream publicity that stuff received was from people shitting on those who said that stuff. Maybe a couple people talked about the cognitive testing thing, but almost everyone made fun of Quinn and shoved him in a locker for the Manning thing.
The only reason anyone thought Stroud might not go in the top 2 last year is because Houston was trying to trick people into thinking it didn't want to take him. And that created a some "is Stroud falling?!?!?" content that ESPN and other media live for going into every draft.
Sports illustrated isn’t main stream? And most big outlets reported on this including espn the manning stuff was an obvious hit piece but the cognitive test stuff coming out at pretty much the same time was suspect from the get go.
