If there's anything I have never thought I really had to have in an outdoor cooking apparatus, it's a ceramic kamado style cooker This MF wants two at the same time
Awesome set up. Only thing I wish I did slightly different was to have my KJ sit a little higher even with the feet so the rotisserie fit fine and didn’t have to be modified. So you may want to look at getting the feet they sit on instead of straight on the stone
If any of you have a small blackstone you take camping, I found this table that looks pretty nice. https://a.co/d/9gw774w
Finally bought a cast iron dutch oven to make smoked mac and cheese yesterday, very happy with both things. Cherry wood gave the mac the perfect smokiness
lol I don't do plating well at all (only reason it looks half decent is due to the wife) so I wasn't going to do pictures but since the gauntlet has been thrown... That's chimichurri on top of the steak, god-tier condiment. Also Cavatappi is severely underrated as a mac-n-cheese pasta. Elbow is just too small and doesn't hold the cheese as well Spoiler
I really like my Dutch ovens (I have 3 different sizes) for lots of stuff, but I hate cleaning mac and cheese out of em I find it to be just as good in disposable aluminum pans
I've been very happy with my recteq. My only complaint is that I can no longer remotely start the grill. I certainly understand the reasoning behind this change but being able to wake up, hit a button on my phone, and then go back to sleep for an hour before putting on a brisket was awesome.
Think I'm finally reaching the end of the line with this MB Gravity. The touch panel is hardly responsive at all. Sucks because it was a decent grill. Now to decide what to replace it with.
Pretty much everything went wrong with the electrics on mine. I’ve seen fixes for the issues mine had but didn’t feel like investing hundreds more into it. Also nothing I did could keep the creosote from building up. So I switched back to my 15 yr old Weber kettle.
The outdoor kitchens posted above are badass. I guess I could research it elsewhere but figure this thread is as good a place as any. What are the typical elements of an outdoor kitchen? Fridge, stove, spaces for grills, oven, what else? And what is the typical cost? I know cost can vary significantly. But for a simple one what are we talking? I'm guessing at least $20k?
Yeah mines a mess at this point. I've been dodging a deep clean for awhile as I'm concerned the manifold will totally collapse. So far the wife has not been down with me spending $2500 on a Yoder.
I'd like to have a conversation with a person who would buy a select grade over a prime grade in order to save 20 cents a pound. Might be a bit of fun.
