Ive said this in other threads, but I dont see myself jumping on another team. If it happens organically, maybe. Ive never rooted for or against the Bears, so maybe.
Von Miller is going to get so much money after that performance. I hope Pace sticks with what he said about spending in free agency - spread it around, not all in one place. Our defense sucks ass and we need a lot of solid starters. Hopefully we can find some studs in the draft over the next 2-3 years.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 1h1 hour ago Bears and Martellus Bennett's agent, Kennard McGuire, are working together to trade the tight end to an agreeable landing spot, per source.
dan durkin @djdurkin 29s30 seconds ago With final league adjustments, my best estimate for the #Bears' free cap space heading into the 2016 #NFL offseason is $46,796,120.
That's with the tagging of Jeffrey right? I could have swore I read somewhere they'd have over 60 mill in cap space, the tagging of Jeffrey would jive up with that.
Biggest needs are OL, LB, DL, also wouldn't hurt to find Cutler's replacement. I'd sign Hali and laurinaitis, draft OL and DL in the 1st 3 rounds.
Hali and Laurinaitis don't make any sense for this roster... both have a lot of miles on them. I would take a OL with the 1st round pick... Conklin or Stanley should be on the board. Will Fuller in the 2nd round fits the athlete this FO seems to like to draft. Joshua Perry in the 3rd.. again a athlete at a position of need. I think they add some FA's... Malik Jackson could be a big get Jaye Howard from KC could be another DE
I'm thinking this team, especially the defense needs some leadership. Signing a seasoned vet wouldn't hurt.
Mike Klis @MikeKlis 12h12 hours ago 4 teams -Jaguars, Bears, Broncos, Raiders - in Malik Jackson sweepstakes #9news #9sports (Sent from 9NEWS) http://www.9news.com/sports/malik-jacksons-suitors-jaguars-bears-broncos-raiders/72711696…
Raul Martinez @RaulSports 14m14 minutes ago Sounds like #Bears are offering a 4-year deal to linebacker Danny Trevathan.
Brad Biggs @BradBiggs 4m4 minutes ago Sounds like price tag on LB Danny Trevathan is going to be at or just a little above $7 million per season. That's not a surprise.
I would love to see the Bears also go after either CB Janoris Jenkins or Sean Smith and either NT Damon Harrison, BJ Raji or Haloti Ngata along with Reggie Nelson or George Illoka at Saftey.
I like it, Massie and Long on the right side is real good. Very happy with the first 2 signings. Still need a NT, CB, S, TE and LT
The #Bears are signing CB Tracy Porter to a 3-year deal worth $16.5M, source said. He cashes in on his resurgence.
Danny has yet to turn 26. If you're going to commit to FAs I like going with guys entering their prime vs Paying for past performances of some vets.
McPhee, Massie, Trevathan... all entering their prime. Doubt that's a coincidence. Wish the porter deal was less $ per season, but whatevs.
Is Massie any good? I don't know anything about him but I hear a lot of bears fans worried about the signing and Cardinals fans ok with it. Edit: PFF had his as the #6 FA OT 6. Bobby Massie 2015 team: Arizona Cardinals It’s tough to know what to expect from Bobby Massie. He was one of the worst pass-blocking tackles back in 2012, but he improved quite a bit after being given another chance in 2014. However, he couldn’t sustain the improvement last season. He regressed in pass protection, with particularly poor outings against the Seahawks’ and Rams’ good defensive lines. As for the run game, Massie has been a decent run-blocker in his three seasons as a starter. You won’t be sure which player you are getting by signing Massie, but at the least he could be a viable sixth offensive lineman.
Just signed ILB Jerrel Freeman for 3 years Pace has stuck to his word and hasn't put all our eggs in one basket. Seems like he's doing a good job of filling needs with solid players
Bears also made a depth move and signed backup DL, Mitch Unrein, to a 2 year deal. He was solid last season. Sign Akiem Hicks and we can draft the best player available worry-free.
Greg Gabriel @greggabe 36m36 minutes ago No deal yet, but Hicks is still in Chicago Chris Emma @CEmma670 9m9 minutes ago Can confirm that Akiem Hicks is still in Chicago, as @greggabe first reported. Bears are waiting on a priority player.
I really can't complain too much over this FA class. Sucks we lost out on Gresham today who apparently took less money to stay in Arizona. And I would've loved to land Malk Jackson. But outside of that we have upgraded the talent across the board and with guys in there prime years. Be nice to add a safety prior to the draft but it sure feels like we can select BPA in the draft when we select. I'm going to hope Stanley drops to us because that would be a massive HR to start the draft.
I think we'll be thankful that we didn't sign Malik Jackson to a huge deal. As for Gresham, he doesn't move the needle enough to give a shit about. Keep loading up on defense.
