I kinda have a soft spot for some of these sequels all these years later. One, because I feel like a little bit longer with beloved characters is nice, but also because I go in with low expectations. I actually liked Dumb and Dumber To and Super Troopers 2. Borat Subsequent was better than both.
About an hour in. Enjoying it. Doesn’t feel like a shameless money grab and that’s enough for me. also really feels like that will be the last time we see James earl jones on screen.
Buddy said he started it and it was so bad he turned it off half way through. I’ll give it a crack at some point this weekend

Got 10 minutes in while riding the bike at the gym. Then went for a hot tub. It was the perfect temperature and really enjoyed sitting in it.
I'll repeat my comments from the other thread. Watched the first hour before bed, it's entertaining enough. They put enough effort in that it doesn't feel like a money grab. Playing the hits but not relying on it to carry the movie. I'm enjoying it. James Earl Jones filmed his scenes on his own. Feels like the last time we see him on screen.
A few good gags. Awful movie. Leslie Jones ruins it by herself. Just a lazy piece of shit effort. I’m angry. I would have been happy with a D+ movie.
I liked it overall, but I’m a sucker for nostalgia. Spoiler I thought the entire time until he kissed the hair dresser they were going to have the son end up taking a DNA test, end up not being the heir, and he would end up marrying the oldest daughter.
So I read that Koogler was writing a script for this that Eddie Murphy passed on and now I'm curious where that would have gone.
i never saw much of the original, but watched this because i heard it was a retread and figured people were upset because it wasn't the same as the old one but maybe it wasn't as bad as they were making it out to be since nostalgia was clouding their judgement. it was alright... not great and i dont' think i laughed out loud at all. Spoiler this was mainly on in the background and wasn't paying that close of attention so up until the very end i thought he had run off with his sister and not the hairdresser. couldn't figure out why everyone was just cool with that...
Man, fuck y’all. It’s not a great movie by any stretch but it’s not trash either. It consistently made me smile. The “that boy’s good” at the end was the kicker.
He was funny I guess, I just thought his whole plot was unnecessary and weird. They could have limited him to one scene and rolled in a montage of other African leaders presenting their daughters to the prince. But whatever.
The best parts of the movie was when it was over the top and ridiculous. Mostly the first half. Slowed down when it got more serious. Snipes was great imo
It’s not a good film. I enjoyed it enough just because of Nostalgia and seeing some side characters again though.
Yeah, she really didn’t bother me either, but Kym Whitley would have been perfect for the part. Summon some of the Suger from Next Friday for it.
Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop, Coming to America and Golden Child my favorite Eddie flicks. 48 hours and another 48 right there too
I ain’t trying to bust your balls but if you were a Beverly Hills Cop guy, then you should be a Coming To America guy too. I haven’t met anyone who’s a fan of one and not be a fan of Trading Places, 48 Hours, CTA and BHC.
it's a matter of what was on cable at the time. i didn't have all these at my disposal growing up and blockbuster trips were for sega games and pixar movies or whatever my parents would allow.
