I'm holding out until I move, which may be to SLC or Boston. Closest team to me is KC or Dallas right now. How'd you guys pick a squad?
When I started following soccer like 8 years ago, I had just moved to Texas and the only team in Texas was the Dallas Burn, so I started following them. They're now obviously FC Dallas and Texas has another team now as well, but it stuck.
First season I loved the Galaxy players. Everyone else on my team was rooting for DC United since they were the closest team but always liked Galaxy.
I was a big Tampa Bay Mutiny fan back in the day, but then they got removed from the MLS. Kinda followed the whole league for a few seasons, became a Donovan fan with San Jose before I finally settled on the New York/New Jersey Metrostars. Clint Mathis and Eddie Pope caught my eye, and I've been hooked on them every since.
I was a John Harkes fan dating to his days with Sheffield Wednesday... he played for D.C. Plus their jerseys are sick.
Not a big fan of the MLS but I pull for Red Bull New York to do well since outside of football, I'm a New York fan.
grew up in the soccer hotbed of Dallas, and had season tickets to the inaugural season burn. so them, but thats not saying much because i dont think very highly of MLS at all.
I don't really like any team, but watch if it is on and a decent match-up with players that I am interested in seeing.
I moved up to Boston a while ago but cant stand any team around here .. ABB .. Anything but Boston .. NY Red Bulls(was local plus now Henry's there) and KC Wizards ever since they got the indian kid
I hate the Union colors. I really wish they would have went with yellow instead of gold. I don't mind the navy blue, but I think they should have just used the Sons of Bens colors. light blue and yellow. Looks great together and they're also the colors on the Philadelphia city flag.
Just decided to become a red bulls fan. Their stadium is nice from the outside. Will tell more of inside later on.
I've always wanted to move to Seattle, so I started following them as soon as I heard they would be the next expansion franchise. I got really excited about Sebastian Le Toux and then, ughhhhhh.
From NC...talked to my buddy about NC getting a team the other day. I would naturally pull for a team there before anywhere since I'm from there. I think the Triad might be the best market.
From So Cal, went to the inagural Galaxy game (with the rest of my club team) and been to many games since, especially when the HDC opened. Have had to root for teams that featured Luis Hernandez and Carlos Ruiz, ugh. At least Ruiz won us our first MLS Cup in front of 70,000 chowder heads.
Portland Timbers followed the sounders since their mls last two years. i root for teams geographically, and i didnt really care for anyone before seattle.
san francisco.....so naturally im gonna root for the Quakes....fuck the rest, especially bitch ass Galaxy and Houston
ha ha ha I do not even remember making that post. The stadium is nice and is not in the hood like PPL park. It was really easy to get there (sans NJDOT retardation). The sight lines are good no matter where you are at in the stadium. Place was loud if it was half full. Parking was not an issue.
