was beating a guy 1-0 until he lagged his shit up and made the connection drop was going to beat his ass anyway
just tied some rag who substituted his entire team with some all star bunch the only player he had from united was rooney
playing real people takes an entirely different game. probably a little more like real life soccer at the HS level. you'll usually end up having to take on and beat at least one defender to set up a good attack on goal. sometimes you can get to the outside and cross without taking on anyone. your first touch when you receive the ball is the most important thing and be weary of the first touch of others especially against the good teams because they'll have one-touch-go players that will burn straight for goal. one other thing to watch out for and i'm not sure how well it works in 10, but some humans if they use a team with a salty defense will just let the AI work the D until it takes the ball from you and then they are on that guy. it is really gay but worked well for some in 09, especially against those like myself that only play real people and don't really know how to attack the AI.
What works for me against the AI(only have played up to World Class so far) is opening up to the wings but cutting back and hitting the trailing man and then trying to pass to the forward for a quick turn around or allow them to use their speed by going by the defenders specially if you catch the ball turn the opposite way (without hitting turbo) and then sprint, this catches the defender on the wrong foot and you can usually gain a few meters on them and try to get a shot. It sounds complicated but if you saw me do it you would see it's not that hard and it works a lot. I try to use this strategy agaisnt real people too because I am not a great crosser.
I can usually get crosses in at will, but my headers always seem to go over the goal or veer to the side. It's extremely frustrating because I am playing smart football, but I can't ever seem to get any headed goals. The people I play online seem to go ultra offensive so the wings are usually wide open. When my crosses don't work, I try cutting in with Cole/Zhirkov/Ballack/Malouda, but the ball gets stolen when I use the skill stick to cut across the pitch. The game is definitely frustrating sometimes. We have pretty much the same exact style of play, Chilean.
What I have noticed is that if you play real people you should use LB to cut back (this is more of a hard cut and most people are not expecting it and fly right by you) then you can get a shot in (I try to use finesse shot) hit the trailer or hit the forward in the box. If you play the computer I try to do a cutback by just letting go of RT and cutting back manually. I still do try crosses here and there and have had some success. Playin club has helped me a lot with this too.
