Been watching extended cut stuff of the battle of five armies and man did they fuck this movie up with some of the editorial choices. Like the climax of the movie is the battle, why’d they cut so much out?
Finally finished rings of power. Last two episodes were good but it didn’t make up for the pacing of the first 8
Only 37 Percent of U.S. ‘Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Viewers Finished Season 1 — Report In the United States, only 37 percent of viewers who started “The Rings of Power” actually watched all eight episodes to completion, according to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter. The number was not shared directly from Amazon, but reportedly came from sources within the organization. Overseas, the completion rate was significantly better, but at 45 percent, less than half of all viewers were compelled to complete Amazon’s Middle-Earth adventure. https://www.indiewire.com/2023/04/l...s-of-power-amazon-completion-rate-1234825392/
It was slow for seven episodes until they remembered what the title was and realized “shit, we need to actually make some rings”, then squeezed what should have been most of the plot into 15 minutes.
It was just too slow, I think I made it through 5 episodes and just gave up on it. I went into it with low expectations tho, Amazon has a tendency to mess things like that up.
Biggest issue was a lack of star power to carry it. None of the actors made their roles their own or will be remembered for them.
just got out of the movies. cinemark here was playing lord of the rings: fellowship of the ring extended edition. took the wife and was her first time to see it (so jealous). best movie ever
My 7yr old Don doesn't have much attention span for movies, but over Xmas break he sat with me and together we watched 12+ hours of the trilogy, and he loved it. Great father-son time.
Have been trying to get my 10 yr old daughter to watch it as she has gotten really into the fantasy genre in the books she reads and shows she watches. Unfortunately, like her mom, any movie/show I suggest because I know they would like it is met with an eye roll. I basically had to trick Mrs. Scorpio into giving Game of Thrones a chance and that didn't work until around the 6th season.
Being the head of the family seems like a lot of responsibility for a 7 year old tbh, makes sense he doesn’t have time for movies
