Dan Rafael @danrafaelespn 15m15 minutes ago No set location or opponent yet but @BronzeBomber's next title defense will be on Sept. 26 on NBC in prime time. #boxing
Different card from the above, but Shane Mosley is fighting Ricardo Mayorga on August 29th in LA. That should be, uh, something, I guess?
Dan Rafael PBC fighters with next dates now set: 8/15 Lucian Bute on NBCSN, 9/6 @KIDCHOCOLATE (Peter Quillin) on CBS, 9/11 Adonis Stevenson on Spike. #boxing
Antonio Tarver Jr. is on the undercard for the fight tonight. Dad let him start boxing about 5 years ago. Thanks for wasting the kids time, dad. Old article: http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/An...al-Boxing-Debut-on-Fathers-Card-Sept-29-74011
Here's what we've got tonight. First, the big card. ESPN, 9:00 pm EST, Keith Thurman vs Luis Collazo, Tony Harrison vs Willie Nelson. PBC comes to ESPN with this doubleheader in Tampa, as Thurman looks to continue his rise as a star player in the sport, facing veteran southpaw Collazo, who doesn't figure to be a serious challenge for him. Harrison-Nelson is an interesting fight between a power punching prospect in Harrison and a hot-cold fighter in Nelson.
And a good, solid late card that is worth watching. HBO Latino, 11:00 pm EST, Mauricio Herrera vs Hank Lundy, Michael Perez vs Luis Sanchez, Joseph Diaz vs Rene Alvarado. A pretty decent card. Herrera is a tough luck fighter but one of the true best in the world at 140, while Lundy is, like Nelson above, a sort of hot-cold guy who has the ability to legitimately pull the upset here. Perez was originally slated to face Sharif Bogere, who withdrew because of injury, while Diaz is a rising star at 126 and faces a decent step-up opponent in Alvarado.
Some news from Lance Pugmire: Told by the @FloydMayweather camp today here in Las Vegas that he intends to keep his Sept. 12 fight date. Will choose opponent shortly. Also I'm being told CBS does have a real shot at televising the @FloydMayweather fight... To answer, @realraysanchez question, I'm told @BadouJack George Groves fight next month will be at Cosmopolitan in Vegas.
Thurman another one of my neighbors at our Condo in Clearwater/St. Pete. Watching the Dirrells both lose their last fight I need to watch Thurman destroy Collazo tonight
I'm interested to see if he can do it. Collazo is a tough cookie who is sometimes hard to look good against.
