Blackhawk is not a pejorative term for one, unlike Redskins. Chief BlackHawk was an actual person. Blackhawk was the name of the army division/brigade or whatever that the original owner of the team was a part of during WWI and that was part of the reason for the name as well. And other than the logo, the hawks don't really have anything else native american themed. If Kane buys this chick out, this is the clearest possible route to him getting traded. Convicted, he's poison. Proven innocent, he's a Hawk. This weird middle ground is where there is a slight chance he's traded. The Hawks really don't fuck around with this image stuff.

Why couldn't they get value for a free and clear Kane? I'm not saying it will happen or is even likely to happen. I just think the way this is playing out is most conducive to the trade scenario that writers have been bringing up.
