Would anyone else find it ridiculous if all 3 teams that were just promoted stayed up? Part of me thinks it's possible because there ares some shitty teams that were left up for this year
There is def. a good chance. Burnley and Wolves looks like they will be staying up. I haven't seen Birmingham city yet. Pompeii will come in last IMO.
As much as I want to see Jozy do well, I can't see Hull staying up... Phil brown is just such a cunt. And if it weren't for David James, Pompey might have already given up 20 goals this year. Top 4: Chelsea ManU Arsenal Liverpool Relegated: Birmingham City Hull City pompey
Ehh it happens almost every year where somebody challenges for the top four (other than the big 4) and they usually end up choking down the stretch (Everton and villa lately). So I'm not saying it can't happen but I will believe it when i see it.
I think Man City hangs around until Christmas before falling behind a little bit due to lack of depth, it will be interesting to see who they try to bring in in the January window
1. Chelsea (drogba has a 14 inch dick) 2. Man U (Man City>>>>> at end of year) 3. Man City 4. Liverpool (had there moments, but City will beat them at home and draw on the road) 5. Arsenal (City :buttfuck: them)
Carling Cup - Round 3 Tuesday Arsenal v West Brom Barnsley v Burnley Bolton v West Ham Carlisle v Portsmouth Hull v Everton Leeds v Liverpool Manchester City v Fulham Manchester United v Wolves Nottingham Forest v Blackburn Peterborough United v Newcastle Preston v Spurs Scunthorpe v Port Vale Stoke v Blackpool mackems v Birmingham Wednesday Aston Villa v Cardiff City Chelsea v QPR
newcastle will be sending out a 2nd group today to avoid any further injuries. Carroll, Ameobi, and Gutierez are all out for sure. A lot of younger guys getting appearances today.
Is there any chance the Leeds wins today?? I assume they are sending the full squad out there, whereas Liverpool is gonna send a B team at best right??
I think Leeds could give them a fight, since it is a home game for them. We shall see I want to see how WBA does against Arsenal, as they are going to run out a B group. WBA just put up 5 last weekend on Boro
Team News for the Carling Cup matches http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/22092009/58/carling-cup-team-news-arsenal-stick-youth.html Arsenal v West Brom Wenger is expected to again give his Arsenal youngsters and fringe players a chance to impress. Centre-half Philippe Senderos should provide some experience at the back, along with veteran Mikael Silvestre, who has made just one appearance so far this season. Sanchez Watt, 18, was on the bench for the Champions League game at Standard Liege and could start, while Kieran Gibbs, Fran Merida, Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere (pictured) may also feature as they stake a claim for a regular first-team place. Gonzalo Jara could finally make his long-awaited West Brom debut with Joe Mattock out with an ankle injury while the left-sided Marek Cech also remains sidelined with an ankle problem of his own. Influential midfielder Chris Brunt (knee) has also been ruled out while long-term absentees James Morrison (heel), Neil Clement and Ishmael Miller (both knee) are still missing. Barnsley v Burnley Barnsley manager Mark Robins is hoping to complete the signing of Slovenia international Suad Filekovic in time for visit of Burnley. Striker Andy Gray and on-loan Hull defender Nathan Doyle are cup-tied, but another recent signing, Julian Gray, should continue in midfield after making his debut on Saturday in the goalless draw with Swansea. Emil Hallfredsson is struggling with a knee injury, Daniel Bogdanovic is recovering from an ankle problem and Jamal Campbell-Ryce (eye) is not yet ready to return after being hit in the face by the ball in the recent defeat at Watford. Striker Iain Hume is expected to be included after having stitches inserted in a cut eye after Saturday's clash. Owen Coyle is expected to make a host of changes to his Burnley team for the visit to Barnsley. David Nugent, who came off the bench to score twice on his home debut against Sunderland on Saturday, is cup-tied so will not feature. Midfielder Chris McCann has been ruled out of action for as long as three months having sustained medial ligament damage in his knee in the same match. But Clarets club captain Steven Caldwell could be in contention for a run-out having returned to training on Monday. Bolton v West Ham (20:00) Bolton midfielder Ricardo Gardner is looking to get a run of games under his belt after returning from a hamstring injury and could be given another run-out at the Reebok Stadium. But midfielder Sean Davis may need surgery to cure a knee problem and will not feature against the Hammers. West Ham manager Gianfranco Zola could give Mexican striker Guillermo Franco his debut. Luis Jiminez and Junior Stanislas will also come into the equation to strengthen West Ham's attacking options after missing the 3-2 defeat to Liverpool. But the Hammers are set to be without Matthew Upson and Valon Behrami who were both injured at the weekend. Carlisle Utd v Portsmouth Centre-half Richard Keogh is back for Carlisle and will challenge Danny Livesey and Peter Murphy for a first-team spot. Youngster Simon Lakeland is ruled out with a medial ligament injury but manager Gregg Abbott has no other injuries in his squad. However, Abbott may shuffle his strikers after two games without a goal. Joe Anyinsah and Gary Madine are expected to be recalled for the Cumbrians. Portsmouth will again be without defensive duo Steve Finnan (hamstring) and Hermann Hreidarsson (foot) so manager Paul Hart could rotate his squad. Papa Bouba Diop is still out with a hamstring problem and new striker Aruna Dindane is undergoing a two-week fitness programme in a bid to overcome a knee injury. Leeds Utd v Liverpool Leigh Bromby is cup-tied and Rui Marques is out with an Achilles injury, so Leeds boss Simon Grayson must opt for fit-again Lee Naylor or Lubo Michalik to start alongside Patrick Kisnorbo. Grayson, who has no other new injury or suspension problems, confirmed he will pick from a full-strength squad, but hinted he could make changes to his line-up as he already has one eye on next Saturday's League One clash at MK Dons. Daniel Agger could be included in Liverpool's squad. The Danish international has been out all season following a back operation, but returned to full training last week. Liverpool are expected to make several changes from the side that won 3-2 at West Ham on Saturday, with full-back Fabio Aurelio standing by for his first start of the season after a knee problem. Nottm Forest v Blackburn Blackburn-born Joe Garner will return from suspension to the Nottingham Forest squad and will compete for a striking role along with Dele Adebola, Dexter Blackstock, Robert Earnshaw, David McGoldrick and Nathan Tyson. Boss Billy Davies is likely to make changes and Paul Smith could replace Lee Camp in goal having played against Bradford and Middlesbrough in previous rounds. Radoslaw Majewski is unlikely to be risked. Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce will make wholesale changes and strikers Nikola Kalinic and Benni McCarthy are likely to be given run-outs. Midfielders Steven Reid, who so far this season has played only in the last round of the cup at Gillingham, Steven Nzonzi and Brett Emerton are in contention for starting places. Defender Gael Givet injured a knee at Goodison Park and definitely will not feature, while on-loan forward Franco Di Santo is unavailable as Chelsea do not want him to be cup-tied. Defender Lars Jacobsen could also return having missed the Everton defeat after his wife gave birth on Sunday. Peterborough v Newcastle Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson is set to name a full-strength side. Utility man Charlie Lee remains sidelined with the ankle injury he picked up in training last week but Ferguson has no other injury problems. He confirmed all three of the players he replaced during Saturday's win over Reading, Chris Whelpdale, Toumani Diagouraga and Tommy Williams, were substituted for tactical reasons and should all start. Caretaker Newcastle boss Chris Hughton will hand his youngsters a chance as he rests key men ahead of Saturday's Championship visit to Ipswich. That could mean opportunities for the likes of Nile Ranger, Kazenga LuaLua, Tamas Kadar, Ryan Donaldson and Haris Vuckic. Loan signing Zurab Khizanishvili is ineligible for the game having already played in the second round of the competition for Blackburn at Gillingham. Full-back Danny Simpson is a doubt after jarring an ankle in Saturday's 3-1 win over Plymouth, while Shola Ameobi (foot) and Jonas Gutierrez (hamstring) remain on the sidelines. Scunthorpe v Port Vale Scunthorpe striker Gary Hooper is a serious injury concern after hobbling off with a hamstring injury in the second half of the 1-1 draw with Bristol City on Saturday. Youngsters Peter Winn and Matthew Godden are vying to replace Hooper on the substitutes bench. Northern Ireland midfielder Grant McCann could be recalled after his late leveller at Ashton Gate, with Michael O'Connor likely to make way. Port Vale manager Micky Adams should have the same squad at his disposal to face Scunthorpe. Assistant player/manager Geoff Horsfield remains sidelined with the groin strain he picked up in training on Friday, with Adams not expecting to see the striker in a playing capacity for another couple of weeks. Fellow forward James Lawrie has returned to training after having his appendix out but this game is expected to come too soon for him, while goalkeeper Joe Anyon continues to make progress with his recovery from a broken leg. Midfielder Dave Howland may again find himself on the bench having showed plenty of character since finding himself on the transfer list at the start of the season. Stoke City v Blackpool Uruguay international Diego Arismendi will make his eagerly awaited Stoke debut as none of Stoke's starting line-up from Saturday's draw at Bolton are likely to feature. But the fit again James Beattie, Tuncay, Liam Lawrence and Andy Wilkinson could be included. Rookie Blackpool defender Ash Eastham has been recalled from his loan spell at Hyde United and could be thrust into action at the Britannia Stadium. The Seasiders are short of defenders after Ian Evatt sustained a hamstring injury in Saturday's 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest, ruling him out for at least a fortnight. Sunderland v Birmingham Sunderland boss Steve Bruce will hand summer signings John Mensah and Paulo da Silva their first home starts. Ghana international Mensah made his debut as a substitute in the 4-1 Premier League victory over Hull on September 12, while Paraguay skipper da Silva started the 4-1 win at Norwich in the second round. However, midfielder Lee Cattermole, who missed Saturday's defeat at Burnley with a heel problem, remains a doubt, while keeper Marton Fulop (also heel) is still out. Wide man Sebastian Larsson (hamstring) is a recent addition to Birmingham's injury list, while full-back Stephen Carr has suffered a recurrence of his thigh problem. James McFadden (thigh), Cameron Jerome (ankle), Franck Queudrue, Gregory Vignal, Marcus Bent (all hamstring), Martin Taylor (ankle), Lee Carsley (back), Damien Johnson (strain) and David Murphy (knee) all remain unavailable. Liam Ridgewell is expected to return at left-back having made a quick recovery from a broken leg, while there may be a debut for Giovanny Espinoza.
I wont be back till tomorrow more than likely so can you post the Carling Cup results. If not, I'll do it tomorrow morning.
that first save on the first goal was impressive. I was thinking a young squad might struggle against a hot football club(just put up 5 this weekend against boro, who's in 3rd in the Championship), but was wrong. No big upsets today outside of Newcastle, if you all consider it an upset, considering we played "B" squad today
Oh and on that previous comment, the only player that played who is a normal starter is Steven Taylor. Guthrie starts from time to time, as well as Ranger of late, but this was a terrible group of players on the pitch. Honestly, I haven't heard of 4 of those guys, and the others I only know from reading online(no first time experience)
Arsenals young players always seem to do well in the Carling Cup, and im glad Wenger sticks with him, he even put out a lot of young players when we reached the finals a couple years back, was a crazy game Chelsea vs. Arsenal Carling Cup 2007 Final and for lazy people Chelsea - Arsenal fight
I remember that. It was so funny to watch because Ibramovic(sp?) was going crazy in the box if I remember right.
Heard that this weekend Newcastle and Ipswich will be wearing special 1-time jerseys to honor Sir Bobby Robson(auctioning after game to raise money for SBR's fund). Along with that they are renaming their North End seats in honor of Sir Bobby.

It should be, as ESPN said Monday games were part of the deal with FSC, but soccernet.com doesn't say anything?
Classes and college football has been wrecking my soccer watching. Has anyone caught the past couple spurs games? I expected losses after Modric went down but has anyone seen how they actually look on the pitch?
