I don't like the Original Series of Star Trek one bit, but The Next Generation ( at least from season 3 onward ) is still some of the best TV I have ever seen, and def top notch sci fi. I love the hell out of the rebooted Star Trek. I thought it and the X Men First class movies would suck, but both are now classics in my book.
the only thing I liked based off the original series was the episode and subsequent movie about Khan you are correct...there was some next level shit going on in TNG
I love the original Star Trek series. I know it's severely outdated now, but I'm sure when it first came out it was awesome.
I read a blurb in GQ a while back where John Cho mentioned he's signed on for ST2 and 3....and if memory serves, in the Star Wars thread there is a scientific behind the scenes youtube vid for something that pertains to Star Trek 2
OK, I finally saw Prometheus. I didn't like it. On the surface it was an entertaining movie but when you took a second and asked a couple questions the whole movie is full of more plot hole than swiss cheese.
Yeah...it was a polarizing topic in that movie's thread. I'm kinda reserving judgement until I see at the very least the next installment of the prequel trilogy
Oh yeah, and the little Alien tie in they threw in at the very end was complete and utter shit. Absolutely no reason that should have been in there. Just stupid.
I thought Prometheus was pretty good. Not nearly what people were hyping it to be, but not many movies live up to the expectations that people have been setting over the last 5+ years. I also agree with Alucard that John Carter was a pretty entertaining movie. Not awesome, but I liked it.
I gave up Netflix when they raised their rates, they've been sending me "baby, come back" emails lately. Will probably cave because I want to watch some old shit like Flash Gordon and Time Bandits
I posted this elsewhere but while I'm here, a few upcoming movies for 2013 not including the Marvel/DC stuff. Jack the Giant Slayer Riddick sequel Oblivion Star Trek 2 After Earth World War Z Pacific Rim 300: Rise of an Empire Ender's Game The Hobbit 2
It's a really good book. It's also a super fast read. I probably recommend Enders Game to more people based solely on how quick people can get through it. It's not like trying to get through a Game of Thrones or anything.
yeah...I'm going to dl to the kindle tonight and a preemptive fuck you for those that scoff at me still paying for books. I steal music, not literature. Gotta draw the line somewhere
really excited about this one for some reason. I think riddick is one of the most badass characters in cinema over the past 20 years.
never understood the hate for Vin Diesel. I think he is a good actor and he can play a badass in movies just as good as anyone else...

I just don't like him. Not a big fan of his work. essentially the same guy in every movie...tough guy in a tank top with a gravelly voice
how was sly, arnold, bruce, chuck, van dam, jason statham, ect any different? but we can at least agree he is as bad as paul walker. :amirite:
easy there...Bruce Willis is the tits. paul walker does suck a bag of dicks. Have hated him ever since Timeline
I think that Ender's game trailer is a senior class project. Went searching for a real one and I don't think it's out yet. Still, thanks for the post, see-le-moe.
my point is how they were the same person in most of there movies. Paul walker's only good movie was Running Scared. and it still was a pretty terrible movie.
Yeah, I was going to say. I hadn't seen an trailer for it yet and after watching that one I was very disappointed. That shit made it look dumb as fuck. Pretty sure the drop ships from Starship Troopers made it in there and I was like "hey, you can't just blatantly recycle something like that. People will know!"
I will never not hit play on that video. I see Family Guy - Ostrich Laugh I have to watch it and get a chuckle. It's also an instant Like from me.
I acknowledge your point of view on this matter and respect it. For me it also boils down to the fact that I don't really like the movies Vin Diesel has chosen to act in also. The notable exception would be the Riddick stuff...again I love the concept but its hard for me to get past my preconceived bias against VD.
I think we just became e-friends. I just think his role as Riddick overwrites everything he has ever done because it is such a bad ass role.
at this point I'm now slightly embarrassed because I'm running under the assumption that the Han Solo gif meant you were the poster formerly known as Han Solo ...if this is not the case, I humbly apologize but my offer on the handy stands b/c the Flash Gordon remake with the original Queen soundtrack is a damn fine idea
