David Villa will be unveiled as a Barcelona player on Friday after completing a £34.2m move from Valencia. This probably seals Ibra's fate. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/europe/8691888.stm http://www.goal.com/en/news/12/spain/2010/05/19/1931910/breaking-news-official-barcelona-sign-david-villa-from
It's all over the news so it is official: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/19052010/58/la-liga-barcelona-sign-34m-villa.html
congrats but you did pay nearly double what we paid for Robben less than a year ago...though none of that financial stuff matters to the Spanish giants so again congrats on getting another fantastic player.
i'm not going to lie this worries me. we do not like to be outdone by our inbred rivals. im praying we do not throw a ridiculous amount of money at a big time offensive player when that is the least of our needs.
ibra and henry both excess at this point 4321 (or 41221) IMO. Pedro, Messi, Bojan, and Villa will ensure goals will flow next year. also glad he wasn't overpaid for. 34.2 is very fair in my book.
Villa is a slam dunk but a lot of times brining big name players to big teams like Barca doesn't work out cause the team chemistry isn't there and they lose their form. I seriously doubt that happens with Villa though.
Has to be United, they have wanted him for a while. Also: Him and Messi on the wings would be so unfair
i would be suprised if we were the english side with the most serious bid/offer. more than likely somebody else. although we did want him, we've said all along that he was too much $$$
i hadn't seen any figures on what they might ask for him, so i'm sure its just a pipe dream i'd say this summer transfer season is all predicated on whether or not we get new owners
well i mean 2nd and 3rd place in la liga were separated by 35 points this last season and with valencia tanking its going to be worse next season the team 35 points away from 2nd place in the premiership was 9th place birmingham city
the mere fact that we are banking our success on the transfer of ownership is why I am saying we won't get any big transfers. I want the asian to own us- crazy rich and will make us a good team, making us popular in China, and when you're popular in China you fucking rake in revenue
La Liga has been and will continue to be a 2 horse race. Every other team is just fighting to be in the Champions League now.
oh i agree completely. thats probably the biggest thing we can look forward to this summer. if a sale happens it sets everything else in motion
yeah for sure. I feel like this year will be changing ownership, setting the tone for January and next summer to get some solid players. I hope we can keep Torres but it seems unlikely
unless it comes later in the summer we didnt start spending (other than robinho) until after the first full season under the adug
this. ownership change would need to be in the process if not almost done by the end of the WC, and there aren't gonna be negotiations during the WC.
transfer negotiations for players. the WC gives us an advantage to get the sale done and not lose ground in the transfer market
no worries, i worded it weirdly. if we can get talks done this month that'd be great and the sale could go final by the elimination rounds, and we can start picking who we want to target
worst case scenario- Torres and Spain just fall on their face. he'll go to whatever winner he can after also, is the Gerrard transfer rumors true or tabloid fodder
hey fag ask catalunya i took my lumps. shit i even started a thread stating u were better. wtf more you want inbred.
Unless United had thrown out a bid that was a good $15-20 million more then Barcelona he was always going to choose staying in Spain over England.
