according to reddit, 3k+ CP pokemon lose 10% motivation per hour, while under 3k CP pokemon only lose 1% per hour

Was reading a thread on raids that people were coordinating here in town. Sounds like only two of them showed up to the gym to fight a machamp when it hatched and discovered 10 other spoofers fighting it with them since they were only ones around. Said it went down real quick. That's gonna suck a lot if spoofers are finishing up raids before people can get there or filling up spots in the fight. Seems like the gym battles have an anti-spoof element now but not raids. I just don't get point of spoofing now. These guys already have all the pokemon, so what do they keep spoofing for? No point in getting more coins and doing gym battles if you have everything.
The spoofed accounts should have been perma banned and not just put a line through the pokemons. Kill'em all I say. Fuckers ruin the game for the rest of us.
I am pretty sure the guy is there for a set amount of time because there are options for private and public lobbies for your team to join before the battle starts.
Raid pokemon exist for the entirety of the hour for everyone until you defeat them or quit trying. It isn't first come first served.
Coins are now granted 6x more frequently: in 10 minute increments, rather than hourly Gym coin earnings are now capped at 50 coins/day
it's still dumb you don't get coins until they return also, if you have multiple ones return to you in the same day that have been there for a while getting capped at 50, or even 100 for that matter, is pretty dumb too
I feel like they'll address this soon. probably just automatically award you coins for the day if you haven't collect any in a set period of time.
would be nice if there were any raids around to participate in. swear no matter where i go in the city right now i have a blank raid page.
raids are almost entirely happening at sponsored stops (for America that's Sprint and Starbucks stores). I see reports of some non-sponsored ones happening but there were new gyms added recently so it may be related to that. if there's a Sprint store or Starbucks in your city that used to be a stop go check and see if it turned into a gym. some of those places were always gyms and some were always stops but things have changed.
early returns for raid tiers 1 or 2 stars (pink egg) - Magikarp, Bayleef, Croconaw, Muk, Weezing, Magmar, Electabuzz, Quilava 3 or 4 stars (yellow egg) - Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Alakazam, Rhydon, Jolteon, Lapras, Snorlax, Tyranitar, Arcanine, Machamp, Gengar, Vaporeon, Flareon 5 stars (dark egg) - legendaries only 1 or 2 stars should be soloable for virtually anyone over like 20. most of the 3/4 seem doable for people who know their type chart matchups.
this is all undisclosed beta testing. there's bugs, issues, glitches, etc. that they want to fix before fully sending this out into the world. part of it again is the sponsorship, I imagine raids were always part of the deal that sponsors signed up for so they're going to get some exclusivity for a little while before it goes world-wide.
I just left dinner in La Jolla there were about 10 raids available. Saw a 30K Snorlax, 11K weekzing, 4.5K Bayleaf, 28K vape, there was a rydon, arcanine, Quilava. Kids were going nuts but wife was not about to let us go on a walk about. Back to hotel and non of the gyms here have raids available. I did not want to waste my raid coin yet as I did not see a group of people and did not want to attack by myself as the Bayleaf was probably the only thing i could take by myself and I have 4 of those already.
just FWIW but completing any raid yields rare candies (candy able to be applied to any pokemon), golden razz, and TMs (change a shitty move on a good pokemon). if you can take like a minute (literally) to destroy a Bayleef it would be well worth it. also given what I've read if you had 2-3 Rhydon/Alakazam (or other Ground and Psychic) you'd have soloed the Weezing as well.
good to know. I am heading to Del Mar tomorrow and I expect a handful of gyms. I will bring my back up batteries and hopefully there are a few raids.
yeah i have at least 2-3 at all times around me now seems like. i complained way too much yesterday and i apologize. i also have 5 of my guys in different gyms and they're holding them down quite nicely. been feeding other guys for stardust and stuff too. liking the update now. tried to down a machamp raid down the street solo but had my alakazam (top psychic i own) in a gym already so time ran out before i could finish him, got close though. not sure if it's well known or not, but if you have a raid pass from a previous day and use it another day, you can pick up another raid pass that same day you use it. figured maybe you could only do one raid per day but i guess not.
2 of the gyms right by my apartment have raids going right now, one's a fountain and the other is a random park..Charizard and Machamp it looks like
i saw on a thread that someone said something about doing 5 raids since yesterday. that's only possible if you spend coin on that premium raid pass correct? you can only do a max of 2 per day (1 pass from previous day, 1 more for that day after completing first raid and spinning again)?
Had a few mon come back from gyms after holding down for 15+ hours and almost positive I haven't gotten any coins from them. Am I supposed to hit something to collect before they come back?
joined up with a local discord group for raids caught a Snorlax, Tyranitar, Rhydon and 2 Machamps, got 3 Fast TMs, 2 Charged TMs
Imo save it for now, a couple of years down the road when Mega Evolutions are a thing, you could have a pretty good Mega Charizard X on your hands
Beat my first raids today. Did a magikarp and bayleef. Super easy ones but I figure it'd be a good idea to do an easy one each day and collect the rewards for them. I have every mon that spawns in the pink and yellow eggs, so no point in saving for a tough get. Would rather collect the rare candies and such. Also have consistently gotten into and held multiple gyms each day sing beginning of weekend. Nice being able to actually do the gym thing without it being held down by spoofers all the time.
Also if I have a pokemon hole down a gym for 5 days before being kicked, will i get 250 coins then? I know it's capped at 50 coins a day, didn't know if it would only give me max of 50 for one mon no matter how long he stayed.
Lastly, one superfan in the Florida discord group changed their vans license plate to this to show their fandom... ill advised.
that sucked. my ursaring whos been in the gym for a few days just got kicked after a blissey that had been in there for several hours. had already gotten 50 today and the dude who was in for a few days got 0. seems really pointless that it doesn't add up... i could understand if it didnt count today's hours for him, but if i collected none yesterday i feel like i should get at least 50 for the blissey and 50 for yesterdays hours from ursaring. whatever, it's a game.
It took me damn near an entire year but I'm now a officially a pokémaster and can stop playing. Caught em all.
Anyone else notice that rare Pokémon aren't spawning normally anymore? Seems like you can only catch decent Pokémon via a raid.
