He's awesome with his players. He and his dad are the most respected coaches in the state. I have no doubt he'll do well recruiting. Agree we need someone with TX ties but not sure we'll get one. If we can find someone with a similar résumé to McDonald, ill be ecstatic.

his resume speaks for itself. Great developer of talent and great recruiter. Hate to lose him even though we never really had him. He bounces around a ton, so I wouldn't expect him to be there long.
McDonald is had a good resume from what I remember but he is definitely a guy who is always looking for a better opportunity and will take it no matter how long he's been at his current role. He did a similar thing to Rutgers I think 3 years ago. We hired him from the Browns who looked like they were firing their HC. He was with us for a week and I think the Browns HC wasn't fired after all so he went back to them.
Pretty much. There was a wreck on 540 so I got there right at the tip. Me and my buddy had been drinking on the way there and before at his house. Right as I sit down a guy comes up and asks me if I want to do the halftime contest. I of course say yes. Then I spent the next 30 minutes nervous as fuck that I'm going to humiliate my drunk ass in front of 16,000 people. They sit you in a recliner that you have to recline in. You shoot a free throw, 3 pointer, and then half court in 30 seconds. Took me 8 motherfucking shots to make the recliner shot... finally I get up and drain my first three attempt, and as I'm running to half court to take my one attempt at the half court shot... The recliner has like no spring in the back and you have to lean back. So the harder you shoot, the further back it reclines... Some carnie shit. Couple that with being under the influence and I'm just glad I didn't shit myself
