This team is super young so they are going to go through ups and downs. Need to get back on the winning side and start a new run.
I mean, I'd hate to see it, but unwillingness to trade fan favorites to improve the long-term outlook has held this team back in the past. It's a very Cincinnati way to operate with our local propensity to gravitate to overvaluing likeable players, but I think fans could learn to get over it if it means celebrating penants and God forbid, league championships.
Completely agree with this sentiment. I personally think trading him during the season isn’t the right move but would be fine with it. Reason being is that he seems to be the emotional leader and our team and young guys are having fun, playing with emotion that they definitely don’t get from Bell. But I also don’t think his value is very high for the return we would want. I am all in favor of an end of season trade, don’t think in season is the right move but would be ok with it I guess.
I'm fine with it if it results in getting controllable starting pitching. No thanks on trading him for a rental.
