Finally an amusing episode. That was great. It took me a minute to realize that wasn't him and his wife at the resort. I am like damn, he's huge and nice speedo.
I never heard one, but reading between the lines of the opening of the first episode this season, they did say that the model was not financially sustainable had they not been promoted. My assumption is that they already acquired most of the talent that they felt they needed to compete on this level. That said, it is not like they didn't bring in anyone. They signed McClean for 290K and then made 5 or 6 free transfers/loans including Fletcher. They also highlighted in one of the last episodes that one team that had been promoted so many times and how their model was get promoted and hold serve and then get promoted the next year. I wonder if that was some type of wink to their strategy.
rumors they were in for clarke harris from peterborough. if they signed him he would've scored 30 in league two. would've cost like 650k it sounds like are they conceding this many goals because their defense sucks or because their midfield sucks? just shipping like 3 goals a match isn't sustainable and like good league one centerbacks probably make like 3-5k a week
I haven't watched the games, but last game was a red card that contributed to it. Does seem like they always give away a lot of goals.
From what I have seen, their defense have lapses which lead to opportunities. I also feel like they get every team’s A game since they have the show and the owners.
Kinda funny that FX/ Welcome to Wrexham mispelled Fulham in the bracket graphic when discussing the FA Cup in last night's episode.
Catching up on this seasons episodes. Fascinating and amazing story behind the Dorking Wanderers. Their President/GM/Manager guy is a fucking hoot.
"So my fucking shit players can learn a fucking lesson" in that accent is just amazing. Lol they are prime for a documentary series following them too. What a story and cast of characters. Edit: also, you just can't make up a name like the Dorking Wanderers. It's all just so perfect
Watching the show. Absolutely dying at the fact there’s a club named Maidenhead Sadly they are the Magpies. Should be the Cherries
Current top 3 were the top 3 teams in The NL the past 2 years. Grinsby is down in the table, but they kind of lucked into promotion in 2022.
Next bunch of games are going to be very hard... Notts 2 Mansfield Town 4 Port Vale (League One) - Cup I guess Gillingham 7
I saw this getting some good reviews for a whiskey in that price range. I definitely want to give it a shot because the Irish whiskey/American rye blend feels like something I'd enjoy.
Tried it last weekend. I’m the furthest thing from an expert but it reminded me a lot of a less ‘floral’ Tullamore. Def worth trying for $7 a pour or whatever and was enjoyable with a splash of Goslings.
I am just not that into Irish Whiskey. It's too creamy for me and I have bad memories of puking from Jameson and sushi, LOL. I will drink the premium red breasts every now and then, but draw the line otherwise.
for anyone who watched the mining episode, they mention this song so I figured this was worth sharing for anyone who hasn’t seen it. before their world cup qualifier playoff with Austria last year.
Has anyone here seen or plan to see a match at the Racecourse? Planning a trip next Fall to Liverpool and may see if there’s a way to catch a midweek match in Wrexham since they’re so close.
