Hope this kid has a good end of his career. He's not good but got the brunt of a lot of fan hate for being not good on teams that disappointed/sucked.
Couldn’t be any more different players for the same position. Hawkins is fine… good shooter but soft around the rim. Cliff is a beast in the paint and on the glass.
Few days late on this one. Pretty good portal haul so far for Larranaga with Blackmon, Lynn Kidd and Brandon Johnson from ECU. Nigel Pack and Matt Cleveland also returning.
There was some talk last year post-tourney that Calipari was poking around so doesn't surprise me that ya'll would be interested. Truthfully I think he's maxed out as a college player in terms of further development but he's a double double machine and has developed a fairly decent midrange jumper and an adequate top of the key three point stroke. Very good defender as well and strong as fuck. Ideally, he plays beside a bigger 5 that can stretch the floor a bit because we were painfully undersized the past 2 years in our 4 out/1in offense with him as the 5.
Before he got hurt his first year at slaw I thought he was going to be a superstar, then after last season didn't even care he was gone
Brazile had a really poor year coming off that ACL tear. If he can go back to the Maui Invitational he’s a lottery pick. Had some weird internal drama and rumors come out this past season that kinda killed any fire our team had and our season imploded.
I was bummed he left because his potential was through the roof. But it hasnt been realized. At least yet.
Really not sure how I feel about this one. Live in Austin so I've seen him play a lot. Extremely athletic, good defender and rebounder. Can't shoot a lick though and he'd be in a frontcourt that has a center in Kidd that doesnt stretch the floor and a marginal-at-best shooter in Cleveland. Just seems like a clunky fit. We landed a PF transfer from ECU that shot over 36% from 3 last year and is a perfect pick and pop 4. That said, Larranaga has wanted to get bigger and more versatile in the frontcourt after trotting out a 6'5 Norchad Omier as our only big the past two seasons.
I see a lot of Coleman Hawkins and Cam Christie talk on this page, but I’d be shocked if either are in college next year. Both have do not contact designation in the portal and are going thru the draft process. It’s basically just insurance if they get injured between now and the draft
