Anyone doing DelFest this year? That lineup is filling out nicely with more to come. Mrs wants to stay closer for Skakori Hills in May but I’m trying to pull a switch.
Unfortunately, I just asked my wife how badly she wanted to go to the shows this weekend, and she won’t let me trade them.
Fuckin mission accomplished. If anyone wants to plan a camp let me know. Have fun with at least one John Hartford jam this weekend.
Just looking at the set list. Looks like this one was worth the wait. Nashville gets some premium sit ins.
I was convinced I was going to get a Frosty Mourn > The Cuckoo Spoiler Also thought for sure Train, Train would end it, but they laid down the best Freeborn Man is all.
Guy next to me was from Wisconsin. He went to the LSU @ Ole Miss game this year (heater) and we were talking about it and shooting the shit when I saw a “guitar tech” come onstage in the middle of set break. Realized it was Bela and fanboy’d Spoiler
I dare you to find a better: Summertime Freeborn Man Livin' Like a Animal With a Vamp in the Middle Eat My Dust Could probably add a few more, but those are the obvious ones
This is my mandolin obsession how it started how it’s going. If Jeff Austin could come back and play with them I would die. Should probably stop skipping Nashville
Damn. They’re playing one with Alex and Peter Rowan. Absolutely worth catching on a normal night but this should be great.
Watched this again last night and I think these two need to do a 23andMe. Sam spreading that seed at one of those early Springfests. I’ve been digging Harbor of Love a lot lately. Their harmonies are on point.
They were fine. I liked where I sat last year more. I was on one of the sides in the 200 level. But I’m also old and I like to be able to get out fast.
Watched this last night in style at a tiny house in the blue ridge. Billy tha gawd. That Alex creek solo, oh lawd. What a band. Spoiler
On the floor tonight and tomorrow. Not usually my preferred seats, but much easier when it’s a hometown show. If anyone else is going, I’ll be having beers at Wild Leap preshow (walking distance to venue).
I squealed when Jarrod scratched on Taking Water It's my favorite Billy show. Favorite show at the Ryman. Heater after heater after heater. Definitely will be talking about it for a while or the rest of my life
So Many Miles - Atlanta Crown of Thorns - Nashville Lumpy, Beanpole, and Dirt - Asheville Spoiler Shouting 7 come 11
Went to ATL last night. Great show. State Farm Arena kinda sucks, but the new rig and board are sweet. Solid setlist, had some Allmans/Jessica teases in 2nd set. Billy on banjo was sweet too, never seen him do that live
Shadowgrass keeps getting jammier. The recent Kitchen Dwellers shows with John Mainlander on fiddle are really nice. They should add a fiddle full time. Greensky and Daniel Donato streaming from the Ryman tonight
