Nope. Not with Victor Conte history. I have a very hard time believing that Victor Conte is not doing some shady shit still.
Just seems lame to accuse one person of juicing because his opponent did based on some loose association.
Im not saying Ryan is clean. Hell I think I posted about a year ago my suspicion when I watched that Netflix documentary. I think it’s very poor judgment to work with someone like Conte.
of course Ryan isn’t clean he just tested dirty twice. But, there is no proof that Haney is dirty so it’s weird to bring him up when the other guy tested dirty while he didn’t. Also my post was a play on the meme referencing Kentucky basketball (iirc it was some sec school maybe Auburn)
This guy is good and usually has good takes if you want further explanation on this and the ramifications.
Cliffs: Ostarine is in a lot of supplements and lots of guys accidentally take it. Nandrolone however (what he tested positive for and had metabolites of in his urine) is a powerful anabolic steroid.
He also said that someone in Haney's corner told him right after the fight that they thought he purposefully missed the weight as well. Pair that with taking steroids and this looks really bad.
yeah Latinos are so unique in that respect. Imagine an athlete in a contact sport being homophobic it’s almost unheard of so of course it has something to do with him being Latino
This is based off more than just that, but go off king. Also wasn’t an attack on Latinos. It was just an observation. Most races fucking suck about it.
him being Latino had dick to do with that shit. Spewing vile homophobic shit is fucked up. You could have easily said “boxer or athlete” but decided to bring race into it. So if like you wrote “most races suck about it” what’s the point of bringing up his race? Machismo or toxic masculinity isn’t solely a Latino problem.
It has gotten better at least. Liam Smith insinuated that Eubank was gay in their prefight and then had to make an apology and say he wasn't a homophobe, which I mean he seemed to clearly be one but still.
I think Lewis and Rahman came to blows in a prefight thing on Sportscenter because one accused the other of being gay
is it really that difficult for you to have a little self reflection and have an honest conversation? As a POC I thought bringing up his race was unnecessary. Instead of taking a second and understanding why I might feel that way you go into this defensive mode and tell me to “go off”. A lot of boxers are homophobic it’s rhe reason De La Hoya go so much shit over the fishnet pictures and probably what Canelo was alluding to.
I understand. But you also seemed to not get my point was meant in a broader scope than just boxing. Theres a reason Mexico soccer(via their supporters) continuously gets in trouble for homophobia. I should have done better at expressing the point I was making, as I wasn’t trying to instigate, attack, or cause issues. And my go off king was due to you deciding to passive aggressively respond to my post instead of having a “honest conversation”
go back and read my first response. I clearly understood your point. I felt that you were attempting to paint it as if Latinos are uniquely homophobic which is what I had an issue with. I don’t think Latinos are any more homophobic than dudes from the US. Also I don’t think I was passive aggressive I think my sarcasm was pretty heavy handed. To be clear I’m not accusing you of anything other than making a point that I disagreed with. I don’t want you to think I’m saying or implying anything about you.
I think there is a toxic machismo in portions of Latin America and I think that's why you get peppering of trump support. That isn't too say that whites don't also do it but you see a lot of Latin American boxers so it gets skewed
the issue I had and one Andy Reocho appears to have confirmed is that his statement wasn’t simply about Latino boxers but about Latinos in general. Painting homophobia as something that is unique to Latino culture is imo BS.
I think you have to take the poster into account and I would doubt that that would ever be his point even if worded weird
Understood. My bad for misunderstanding your response. I just took this latest moment(the press conference) and my brain thought of it in line to other moments(primarily everything Mexican soccer fans do) of public homphobia. Clearly I used the wrong moment/thread to cite any of it, but I wasn’t trying to allude they are worse than others, that’s my bad.
I understand what you’re saying and I don’t think AR is a bad dude but I don’t know how else to take these two statements.
And that’s my bad. I should have specified to in/around sport? As that’s specifically what I was alluding to with my first post. But that doesn’t make it accurate/ok. Again. Apologize for my poor wording/posting. My bad to you/anyone else I might have wronged.
Andy Reocho i posted my reply to Redav before I saw your reply. I hope we can move on and no ill feelings towards one another
