have not, only hotel i've stayed at is the downtown Aloft which was aweeeesome and likely only more so due to that area of Asheville getting tons more breweries/Buxton Hall etc
Fam, going this weekend. Lyrtch you seem to be the local. Going to Curate Saturday at 4pm (only time they had open). Outside of that and drinking at Wicket Weed and other breweries, I have no plans. Stay downtown, right? As in close to College/Brodway area? Anything else I should really be looking at? Solid brunch options Sunday? I'm staying through Monday.
Yeah stay downtown. Close to Patton ave/Lexington Ave but its small so really anywhere is fine My favorite brewery hopping area is down around wicked weed funkatorium, burial, twin leaf, green man, etc Eat at Chai panai, blue dream curry house, Gan shan station, nine mile People swear by biscuit head for brunch, I like over easy and the junction
Cool. Chai Pani is an Atlanta place that I eat at often about a mile from my house. I'll probably avoid it since I can get it at home. I plan to be extremely high the entire time, so as much food recs the better. Any decent bars for music or anything?
You picked a good weekend. Looks like they're missing the monsoon we're currently getting in the 5th district
Some of the breweries will have music. Seems like twin leaf always does. I know the Grey Eagle has a lot of music but I've never been, last time I was there there was some guy crushing the guitar at Asheville yacht Club in the middle of the day and we got drunk as fuck and hung out with him
Not local anymore sadly. Used to live under an hour away. Sunny point cafe is best brunch IMO. It gets busy but is amazing food. Biscuit head is #2. I always like to stay at the Aloft or an air bnb in that area because you can walk everywhere from there. The South slope now has ww funkatorium, one of the best new restaurants in the country in Buxton hall. That area makes a killer brewery crawl. Chai Pani for Indian Street food. Looks like weather going to be kind of crappy or I'd tell you the touristy outdoor stuff.
Local provisions is new since I left but it's supposed to be the best new place for dinner. Ditto on arks breakdown for beer crawl. Look at schedule for orange peel, they might have someone decent in town for music or comedy.
If you're looking to kill some time hop an uber down to the Sierra Nevada facility. It's really fucking cool and the grounds are amazing. Food is delicious as well. I know it's not the local smaller scale shit people love about Asheville but that place is amazing and learning about their sustainability is very interesting New Belgium tap room deck is cool on a nice day too
I seriously dislike new Belgium beers when purchased from a store but their tap room stuff is good imo
Agree. They also didn't accept tips when I went. They were telling me it's an employee owned company so they just profit share or something.
New Belgiums business model is very dope I never got to Sierra Nevada once it opened but it looks like an amazing place
It really is. Would love to attend a concert in the amphitheater they built in the back but haven't been able to make one yet
Burial Brewing is a must. As is the Wicked Weed Funkatorium. Hit up Curate before dinner for a couple dishes, try and snag a seat at the bar and you won't need a reservation.
Kinda bias towards green man. But try bens tune up, not sure who's playing this month but they always have a local band playing. And it's a good place to have a drink other than beer for a second. Always take people there if they are tired of crushing beers all day, so they can have a breather.
Going to Ween on April 21st. Downtown hotels are mostly over $300, but I found The Beaucatcher motel off Tunnel, close to downtown for $150. It looks like a remodeled boutique motel. The pictures and reviews are nice, but has anyone else stayed or heard about this place?
enter your dates set your filters for what you want enjoy? I used it once in Asheville and was fine, its very straight forward. look for places with lots of good reviews?
that looks like a great spot right between South Slope awesome places (Buxton Hall, Funkatorium, etc) and downtown
for real that can be the killer on airbnb for Asheville I always check Aloft first as its a great location and during off-times isn't that expensive
interviewed in fletcher this morning and should have approval from management on the hire by tomorrow looks like i am moving up here. big fan of the town.
fingers crossed i'll be moving in the general Asheville area (Hendersonville/Brevard also potentials) in year and a half or so

Menu: Family Style $35 per person Korean style chicken wings Whipped tofu and onion dip with house made naan bread Seasonal soup (in shot glass size portions) Szechuan cucumbers House made meat dumplings Red Curry Shrimp Spicy Drunken Noodles Coconut black rice for dessert
Hi guys. I'm going to be in Asheville this weekend for a trip with the wife. We have dinner reservations at the Admiral one night. Looking for something for Saturday. We've been to Curate before. We like everything. What do you recommend? Wife loves foodie kind of stuff but anything good is fine.
