Never played anything by them but bl and bl2 but bl2 is in my top 5 all time They should just make bl games
give it a month for the damn animation/gameplay patches jesus that could apply for any anticipated game that said, gonna buy eventually
even some of the more negative reviews make it sound like it's still definitively a Mass Effect game, just with a lot of technical issues. so that's giving me some hope. i can deal with average graphics and the occasional animation issue as long as the core components that made the original trilogy so great are still intact.
I, luckily, haven't had any of the glitch issues. And I'm also only like 2 hours in. My issue so far is that there aren't the RPG decisions that I want. What is the point of having a character who gets 1 bonus point in an ability in their chosen "class"? That's not choosing classes or potential abilities. That's just one point. Unless I'm missing something.
I'm a couple of hours in and from watching gameplay and other scenes I was so confused by all the criticisms this was getting but by actually playing the game for a few hours I completely get it.This beginning has been terrible. Everything seems inconsequential. Like I'm doing stuff because the game tells me to do it but I actually don't care about any of it. The side quests that i have picked up so far seem like they are straight out of Dragon Age Inquisition. Scan 10 of these pick up 10 of that. I havent even done a single one and it already feels like a chore. Even the dialogue options are pretty much variations of the same thing. Same with the abilities there are like 5 or 6 distinct things and the rest are variations. This game feels like it just gives you the illusion of choice rather than any actual freedom to make any impactful decisions....at least so far.
I went back and played ME 1, 2 and 3 over the last month leading up to this. Not a single one of those games hold up. Everything is extremely repetitive. And I mean EXTREMELY repetitive. This franchise has some strange hold over those that love it. And playing the game today I felt like
just flew off the first planet you actually get to travel to; game is definitely a ME game, and is awesome. these fetch quests people are talking about are only for the beginning hour. once you actually get free roam its amazing. also, havent gotten to experience the awesome facial glitches... has it been fixed?
Glad I cancelled my pre-order. I'll pick it up used when it gets patched eventually. Too much on my plate as it is, right now. On NG+ of nioh, just started Horizon, have Nier waiting, the show next week, and I think Persona a week after that (undecided on this)
Those are 5 top notch 90 metacritic level exclusives one after another in a short time period. I've never seen anything like that for any console ever. Not to mention there is still God of War and The Last of Us 2 coming out.
He's right tho. I've had issues going back and playing just about all of Biowares catalog and I've loved most of everything they've done. Remember that they weren't really known for top notch gameplay till ME2. They carried themselves with in depth rpg elements and god tier narrative with just about everything before that
Agree with all of this. ME2 is a top 5 all time game for me. It's just hard for me to go back and play games before it because I already know what happens, and the gameplay isn't enough to make it worth the replay. Still a marvelous catalog of games that should be experienced once by everyone
Played for three hours last night and I think the critics were way too harsh on this game. I do agree with them that the characters look creepy as fuck and sometimes their pupils will take over their entire eye. Ryder is not as polarizing as shepard and I wish he was a little more emotional after all the shit he went through in the first hour. Kind of takes a "well you have to break a few eggs" attitude. But those really are minor complaints. I am having a blast playing this game and the combat is so much fun. Glad I bought it.
There are at least 5 Zelda games, 5 Mario games, 5 Final Fantasy games, Kingdom Hearts, Metroid, Super Metroid & Prime, Bioshock and Infinite, The Last of Us, the Uncharted series, Tetris, Doom, WoW, like 4 GTA games, Red Dead Redemption, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 1,2 and 3, Tecmo Super Bowl. Hell, I'm not a huge fan, but I think Skyrim is a better game than ME2. Go ahead and throw in Borderlands 2.
