Sometimes, you look around your foxhole, see your company, and wonder how the hell you got there. This is one of those times. If I'm going through die fighting, it's not going to be with the likes of you.
The GF's cousin who lives in NYC is apparently there -- or was -- she may not have actually gotten to the island. Either way, I'll do my job and fill in if there's anything interesting to tell.
Yeah you could do that....or....or get her to post in here so the board can ridicule her mercilessly and satisfy its taste for blood.
She could rate our attractiveness if we posted pics of ourselves too. We really need to get a girl to post here.
I've never met anyone in real life that doesn't enjoy blink 182. I'm always amazed at how hard people try to be too cool on the internet.
Some really bad opinions of punk itt... If youd like to discuss actual punk bands or even the occasional pop punk or other punk sub genres you can join in the Punx thread. https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/punx-pls-talk-to-us.4808/
No. I've never met anyone that actively went out of their way to act like they're too cool for blink 182.
I'm not sure what was this funniest part of this thread turn: A) The actual multi-page discussion about if Blink-182 is or isn't punk rock, and side discussion about if pop punk is or isn't punk rock. B) That someone immediately used the "Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys and New York Dolls" as the measuring stick for what IS punk rock. C) That someone (might have been WED) talked about the good, "real" punk bands on labels like Fat Wreck Chords and Epitaph. It's probably C. It doesn't get more punx rawk than NOFX!
multi page discussions about music are funny, whereas multi page discussions about where some 16 year old is leaning for college are normal
This one in particular makes me laugh because there are like 4 of us who post in the punk thread. It's literally titled: "PUNX: please someone talk to us." Now, all of a sudden, everyone here is an punk rock aficionado.
Shiiiiiiit. Sid Vicious would have been a judge on Britain's Got Talent and putting out the same watered down shit Blink-182 does if he were alive today.
Blink, NFG, Sum, Good Charlotte etc etc are all pop punk IMO. I say that as a fan and :douche alert: as someone who has got to party with x amount of pop bands. I swear, another certainty after they call your choice out is that they refuse to reveal their taste.
It's not being "too cool" to not like Blink 182 it's that there are a lot of people who don't like their music. Just keep on watsoning though.
Blink just played here like last weekend and this past week I've had to listen to "All the small things" being played at different desks at work and try to not stab my ear drums out with a pen when they go into the "na na na na na na nah, na na na na na na na na na nah" part.
haha I'm sure you dance like a disgruntled white boy like I do. Every once in a while I'll catch a smell or something and it will bring back to Warp Tour. Basically the same smell of human genocide.
I've just never met any of these people in real life. It's just the try hards on the internet so far in my experiences. Their music is too simple and ordinary for someone to not like it.
My younger brother likes Blink 182. He also loves rap music, but only likes the songs with good beats. He doesn't care for the lyrics.
I got a job through craigslist handing out Trojan condoms, visors, and girls' tank tops at the 2006 Warped Tour stop in Charleston. I also got to man the Trojan tent, where we had carnival games like "colors" and throwing condoms into solo cups. I made like $100, but I got to keep as many condoms as I wanted.
This was at the festival at the state fairgrounds, where they played, Twin Forks (Chris Carrabba's band) and NFG played. Place was lit.
