You can sneak into reserved seating pretty easily at Lakewood. I did it for both nights of Phish in 2015.
Really don't care to hear people sing Terrapin other than Jerry tbh. Not going to complain if they play it, though.
Hot damn that payoff on Jack Strawis fire. If there is something touring better than JRAD then I'm quiting my my job and family and following the band. 5/7/17 Nola. Jack Straw
Watching Drumz on these dead & co shows (especially webcasts w/ the close up camera shots) is surprisingly enjoyable. There's just a lot going on, and Billy and Mickey are obviously insane.
What did everybody think of last night High Cotton Joshuam2107 Owsley LeVar Burton? Highlights for me were Mississippi, BTW, Terrapin and Days Between. Of course that Sugar Mag was fun too. Black Throated Wind the song that got me into the Dead(hence my Bobby love) and been on a big Days Between kick after watching the doc.
Set list was awesome. My two buddies who went and go to tons of show had very high praise for it. They were tripping, rolling and took some g so it's hard to really known if threat opinions are legit
It was a very good show, probably my favorite Dead side project I've seen, tbh. Half-Step first set closer was really, really good. The Lazy Lightning jam during UJB was awesome, and coming out of space into Milestones definitely blew me away. Mayer is unreal on guitar. Bobby looks and sounds as good as he has in quite a long time.
Kind of want to ask you why or tell you that is an embarrassing take or stance to take but I just really want to fight you
GHB. But, Just reread the text they sent me though. Just molly and paper. Said they had a water bottle mixed with a g of molly. I misread Pretty much any show is going to be good with some molly and paper though. im still skeptical on it being as good as they said it was. Set list was fire though. One of these guys goes to concerts monthly, plays in local jam band and been behaving like that since he was 15. He is now 45. He said it was maybe a top 5 alltimer for him. Kind of blew me away with resume of concerts under his belt. I'm going to give the show a listen today since it's on NUGs already.
Half step, Sugar Magnolia and Terrapin Station was a nice little lockn preview. The band was great, I thought the sound on the lawn was fucking garbage though..
Wasn't sober, but I thought the 2nd set was great. The lightning in the clouds above the stage during what I thought was a great Terrapin, and Jeff on the Milestones cover were a couple of the more memorable highlights for me. Oh, and Bobby singing Days Between. I went to the Chappelle/Mayer show afterwards and that was a lot of fun. I like Chappelle's no cell phone policy. Mayer played 4 or 5 of his own songs and then Dave did stand up for an hour and a half. Closed out with Mayer and Prince's harmonica player playing Purple Rain and then dave sang the Barney theme song. It was a pretty fun/weird Tuesday night There's a link to a free download of the FLAC SBD on r/gratefuldead now
He's hit or miss for me. Some songs fit him better than others. The faster songs with lyrics that move quickly like Dire Wolf, Help on the Way, HCS, Bertha are a few he does well imo. If syllables are drawn out he gets bored and starts singing like a black woman. His guitar playing is phenomenal though. The best singer in Dead&Co is Oteil. He should be singing Dark Star and a few other Jerry songs.
Been on a shakedown street kick lately. Anyone got a favorite they want to recommend? 11/24/78 was a great one I listened to today.
Also found this today. Finds best versions of Dead songs based on votes.. Pretty cool sited http://headyversion.com/
No this is a first. He's only sang China Doll (check out the one from 6/10) and a verse on GDTRFB with D&C. He's done Franklins with ABB and Dark Star with JRAD in the past. I like it. John can really sing FOTM too
And it makes me really, really happy to see Bobby doing as well as he is, both mentally and physically.
