Been trying to pick the guitar back up and looking at Saint Stephen and Althea. FUCK! First part into Saint Stephen is doable then I'm having some problems with the tab and my ability. Altha is some what simple enough leading into the actual song other then the middle part of the intro. Couple of months ago tried Touch and almost had it but moved and lost interest. Guitar is hard...
Interesting take on a GD cover band. That bar is like 3 blocks from my house as well, may have to check them out. TheFreak55
Checking out the audio stream from JRAD @ the cap during the phish set break. Man, I really need to see them again.
So they have some sort of archive app for roku? Visiting friends this weekend and just pulled it up in their living room. Pretty convenient. Starting the morning with 03-23-92 @ The Palace. Not a bad show to start the day with.
Just says "Dead Shows" Not sure if that's the app name or not, he was apparently drunk when he found it and downloaded it.
randomly came across these dudes on the facebooks. pretty good. they’re stopping in SF in a few weeks.
Yeah, that looks dope. Aquarium drunkard is helping promote it, so it's gotta be cool. William Tyler is one of the guitarists, and he's killer.
I'm pro-phish, and think they've been absolutely killing it during this msg run. But this is still pretty funny. https://www.relix.com/blogs/detail/...m_cutler_did_not_enjoy_last_nights_phish_show
One of the more pretentious pieces I've read, regardless of subject matter, in quite some time. Good for you Sam, we're all looking at you now.
I get that vibe whenever he voices his opinion on anything. Admittedly I don't know much about him outside Long Strange Trip and his AMA a few weeks back, but picturing how miserable and obnoxious he must be at a Phish concert is kind of funny to me
In fairness to cutler, if those first songs were my first exposure to phish - and I was going into it planning to not like phish...I might have felt the similar.
Yeah buy why go if you're planning on not liking it. You think someone involved with the dead would have a more open mind when it came to music. Don't get me wrong, I listened to a vocal jam before I was actually into Phish and thought "what the fuck am I listening to," but I didn't let it shape my opinion. In fact I had seen Phish a few times before I saw a vocal jam, and never understood them. But I finally saw them do one at Lockn, and it completely changed my opinion on it. They know it's goofy, it's not supposed to be some amazing musical achievement, it's just fun.
He's an old dude who's seen a lot. People shouldn't take it so personally. Phish sold out 13 nights in a row @ msg (and they're playing out of their minds), they're going to be fine.
This Garcia tribute @ red rocks just picked up a notch w/ Kamasi Washington getting involved. Tom Hamilton playing wolf too!
Everyone listen to 9.6.80 today. Monster show with an all timer Sugaree. Fantastic aud/matrix recordings out there, too.
As you should. Whatever, I'll have a blast and probably feel like shit at work the next morning, but such is life.
I think every show in Atlanta has ended up being on a Tuesday or Wednesday, I know I've had tickets twice and had to give them away both times
Heard some rumblings of a NYE run in the Bay Area. Seems pretty likely since they're doing that thing in Mexico like a week later.
