Just caught up on this story. I feel bad for laughing at the part where he exposed himself to some woman and then quickly jerked off in a potted plant after she denied his advances. Wtf
It's weird how life imitates art. Because Damon wishes he was alone on Mars right now and he's going to have to eat a lot of shit to survive.
I'm just concerned about what this will do to Universal's Dark Universe. Crowe's Dr. Jeckyll is the Nick Fury to that franchise.
i dont see the big deal about hitting on a waitress and then jerking off into a potted plant is, he could have jerked off right onto a table but instead he fertilized a plant. hats off to harv for that.
From a women’s standpoint, it’s kinda nice knowing that this sort of bullshit which was accepted as part of the business just a decade ago is no longer tolerated. Good on that Italian model. It’d be so easy to get intimidated into silence by that fat rich fuck.
Are you serious? This apparent predator is a big Democrat donor and helped fund the "Gloria Steinem Endowed Chair in Media, Culture and Feminist Studies" at Rutgers. He held himself out to be a champion of women's rights--hence the unbridled hypocrisy.
Sexual predators often claim to be very different people than they actually are. (See: Trump, Donald and Cosby, Bill).
I don’t think it’s unbelievable. I think it was a pretty open secret he was a shithead. I think it’s likely that a number of big Hollywood producers are just as shitty.
Ha; "open secret" to whom? To folks not privy to the goings-on of Hollywood (i.e., damn near the entire country), the difference between the outward projection and the inward seedy truth is striking.
I don’t think they are nearly that organized. If Weinstein opens a studio in Bollywood after this, I guess maybe.
The fucking POTUS is an admitted sexual predator. He admitted to walking in on naked underaged girls and that they couldn’t do anything about it because of his wealth and power. He openly bragged about doing the shit this POS is being accused off but yeah the the democrats blah blah blah
I'm not sure if you're purposefully being disingenuous or what but it's pretty obvious what his point it. Hollywood has this holier than thou attitude that has gotten even worse since Trump was elected, yet they enable/ignore things like this. Like you said, it's not just Weinstein, it's other producers, directors, and actors in Hollywood too. While some of us may know about this stuff, a solid portion of the general public is unaware. Btw I agree with a lot of Hollywood's political/social stances. But it is hypocritical, as are most people.
He gave 1.4 million to Democrats since 1990. This makes him a large donor, but not anything special. He is a fucking monster, but rich guys controlling access to work often are.
I was replying to the notion of it being unbelievable. It isn’t at all unbelievable to me that a Hollywood producer would be a sexual predator nor do I find it unbelievable that a sexual predator would attempt to cultivate a public image very different from the person he actually is.
I'm sorry daniel, sorrowful of what ever went with beowulf, and became daniel ocean. Though I had nothing to do with it, you do however have my sympathies. You run along now, with your new do right friends....and wreak your righteousness upon the world.... Fare the well old friend...
If I'm wealthy enough to donate $1.4 million to a political party over my adult lifetime--much less over a 27 year-span--then things will have worked out pretty well for ole Hayden. But, in any event, please quit being disingenuous; did he or did he not host a fundraising party (if not parties?!) for Hillary? And don't get me wrong, that's certainly not Hillary's fault--she didn't know--but let's not act like Harv was some sideline Democrat.
We agree that this guy is a POS. What I don’t understand is how you can seemingly be okay with the shit trump has admitted to have done. I’ve always had your back on here. If me thinking trump is a POS is your breaking point for our friendship IDK what to say.
Is that some grand indictment of the Democratic Party? The GOP speaker of the house(something that actually matters) was a child molestor.
Nancy Reagan signed a holding deal with a movie studio on the casting couch when she was trying to make it. And Ronald tore through every 18 to 20 something actress after his divorce. There is no political bent to older powerful men exploiting women. It is all grotesque. I’m on board for congress holding hearings on this type of abuse. This current system where you have them sign an NDA is holding back justice.
Sure, but it's not just Hollywood. It's all wealthy, elite, or powerful society. Pretty much anywhere that people are in a position of wealth and/or power, there are going to be far too many of them that abuse others. And a staggering number of them are insulated from consequences because of their status and/or the potential leverage they weild over their victims. DC has historically had a huge problem here as well, because politicians tend to exhibit the same behaviors. See also: the Catholic Church. I know why some posters want to focus on the political affiliation of Weinstein, but really this has little to do with political affiliation. I'm sure we could come up with a nice long list of abuses committed by people on both sides of the political spectrum -- and each side will be fraught with hypocrisy.
I get it. You're arguing that sexual predators are everywhere. But most people don't think about it daily. Most people ignorantly believe athletes politicians actors rich people don't need to do this to fill their sexual needs. So maybe the better word is shocking. The details in this case.. wow...
Apparently President Obama and Hillary Clinton didn't think so, given the facts that Harvey hosted fundraising parties for Hillary and Obama's daughter interned for Harvey's company. Harv must be pretty clever. But I'm not those two, and I agree with your premise.
