Almost - I’m seats 20-23 Look for the drunk guy with two small boys and a disappointed wife with a baby strapped to her chest.
Surprised this wasn't already posted. Now to find out who the hell these guys are. Willie Martinez - Most recently at Tennessee, was at Georgia as secondary coach then DC from 2001 to 2009, worked at Auburn and before that was at Oklahoma from 2010 to 2012 (going off Wikipedia here so not sure of accuracy). Graduated from Miami. Glen Elarbee - was OL coach at Missouri. Looks like he was at LSU when they won the MNC in 2007 and was at Oklahoma State before that. He was at MTSU and Houston that i can tell before ending up at Missou. Corey Bell - UF's DB coach, coming along with Shannon. Was at FAU for 2 years, went to UF this year, now here. I'd say he upgraded quickly.
Anyone actually mad that Frost took McGriff? I dont really care considering he had no prior relationships to our current coaching staff and his offer list is pretty much shit.
He's coming off so small time with this. I'm not saying UCF fans don't have a reason to be a little disappointed but I side with the kids who are changing before they get hit with the 1 year penalty. Would be more bullshit if the coaching change was after the 20th and they were bound to an agreement that was a bait and switch.
I'm not super happy or sad about the decision 17 or 18 year old kids make. It's interesting to follow and all, but ultimately it's about whats best for them. If he's got a relationship with those coaches and a chance to get a great degree, by all means. And I enjoy shit talking weather and corn as much as the next coastal elite, but I'd think the whole leaving-home-for-the-first-time aspect appeals to a lot of kids just as much as otherwise. I can't fault him for wanting to go explore a bit. I am looking forward to Nebraska's class one day being a bunch of unrecruited Florida 3*'s though. It'll be fun to watch their fans try and make sense of it.
I mean the kid has 4 offers and who knows if he fits what Heupel wants to do. Now if he was spending the bowl practices trying to get Milton and Co to transfer then we would have issues.
It’s a little awkward seeing the pics of the coaches in UCF gear. I’m ready for the Peach Bowl to come and go, so we can all move on completely.
Yeah, at this point I’d rather Heupel get kids that fit his system then try to adapt kids that Frost got for his
It’s like when you break up with your girlfriend but you still have to take them to a friends wedding you both got invited to while dating
#Georgia Bulldogs Should we hate Willie Martinez coaching our secondary? Is he at least a good recruiter? Dude has moved around a lot.
I feel like between Randy Shannon, Corey Bell, and Willie Martinez...we should probably have enough there to have a better secondary than we did under Chins and Fisher, no?
Seems like it's an upgraded staff both in terms of coaching and recruiting? At least on that side of the ball.
Frost's staff came from the JUCO ranks, first time coordinators, and much smaller schools. Plus most of them were young enough to have small children. This staff is all SEC SEC SEC that are older dudes so far. Hopefully the next round of hires will be younger guys.
Yes I just couldn’t possibly care less about a peach bowl vs a g5 opponent. I’d prefer we just forfeit rather than risk any injury.
But you claim you didn’t know who you were playing? So you just don’t follow college football outside of Auburn? There has really only been on G5 team making headlines this year. Anyone who follows college football with even a little interest would be aware of UCF.
lol I love Killins. He's always good for a few quotes. To be fair, everyone is slow compared to him. But yea, that's just funny.
Tbh the circumstances are what make it impossible to care about...even if it was against a name team. We spent the last month playing de facto playoff games and now that’s over so it’s hard to care much about the Peach Bowl...no disrespect to UCF.
Will the team have the same outlook towards this game as the auburn fanbase seems too? Looking forward to finding out
I for one don't give a shit if UCF isn't a power 5 team. I'm excited to play you guys and think it will be a great game. They probably would've finished 4th in the shitty ass SEC this year. I mean La Monroe gave us more trouble than more than half of our SEC schedule this season. Also, is there not a peach bowl thread?
I actually think it will be a really good game regardless of what parts of the fanbases think. I don’t have any doubt UCF will score points, but I have a fear that we will not be able to stop auburn from scoring as well. A shoot out game against an SEC team will not turn out good for us like it did against USF and Memphis.
In all honesty, I wish we weren't playing a 3-loss Auburn team. If we win, the narrative next year for pre-season rankings will be "big, deal UCF beat a 4 loss Auburn team that was disinterested after not qualifying for the playoffs." That said, I'm personally super hyped for this game.
It will still be a very respectable win even if we aren’t totally into it. At our best we’re better than Bama so winning at all would be impressive for UCF.
And if we win Nebraska will end up getting our preseason ranking anyway because Frost and crew, ESPN narrative and what not
