UCF Thread - President of the Pledges

Says he’s battling for a job with the Henderson twin that had every turnover we had last season. If this is our biggest loss then I’ll be ok. I don’t remember him being amazing and he played all over so maybe his ability to be versatile is his asset.

 

Honestly not that huge a loss. I’d like to keep him but it’s not like he’s irreplaceable. We probably have a guy just as good right behind him.

 

Exactly, it’s not like he went into the portal for fun. Either he saw something during the spring practices or he got talked to after the spring practices .

 

Goldie back in the portal. This whole thing is hilarious.

 

If he wants a starting spot he's gonna need to hit up Colzie at Famu or something similar

 

I mean if he thought he could come in and immediately get a starting spot, he’s crazy. I was never super sold on his talent anyway, so I don’t really care. As of right now, he’s a replacement level kind of guy.

 

I was hopeful he'd hang around FSU for a few years and actually develop......those things just dont happen anymore

 

I'm interested to see if NFL teams start to shy away from kids who transfer several times because it shows an unwillingness to be developed. Probably won't matter to them though.

 

Goldie was a Seminole HS guy right ? Hope we don’t start losing guys from there..their HS coach seems to be taking the Timmy not winning the starting job personally

Goldie apparently didn’t like going to class, meetings, practices, or anything on time. Sounds like he’s going to need to clean up some things if he wants to extend his career. FSU had the same problem with him.

 

There are rumors all over our boards about some of our DBs leaving for UCF to follow T Reed. Also mentioned that Rhym could land there too

 

Two huge transfers in two days, the CB from OSU and the edge from Miami. Gus working the portal.
Still hate the portal and all the uncertainty it brings but glad to have a coach and staff that's good at using it.

I read a couple Pittsburg sports writers takes on it and it sounds like they want to try him at slot receiver and use him like Taysom Hill which actually sounds perfect for him. No question kid is an athlete and a threat to throw on occasion so good for him, hope he makes it
