I did one sometime last week. Motherfuck I can do a 45 min class no problem that 30 min HIIT class killed me.
Had a woo girl next to me in class today. Instructor: 12-13-14, guys. Let’s go. Girl: WOO! Yeah! I wanted to murder her.
I don’t want to brag or anything, but the overweight housewives at my spin studio all marvel at my performance every class. I could never give up that kind of celebrity.
Here you go. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00XMHI7LC Mine will be here Thursday. First ride will be a hung over Friday morning.
Think I'll go this route. Is there anything special about this bike versus the 100 others on Amazon between $200-300?
That I can’t help you with. The Peloton comes with everything. Before I got the Peloton I was going to go your route and read this article. IIRC has something about one in it http://www.mypursestrings.com/peloton-app/
I was looking at that one. I like their heart sensor except I can’t get it to work with my watch. Otherwise it’s been great.
Yes but the bike you’re getting doesn’t have clipless pedals, does it? IMO you should get them but you don’t have to
I am looking at the 520 and 530. Seems the main difference is the 530 can be used with street tennis shoes. As a beginner will these be easy to get used to?
I have reversible ones on my road bike but I seldom use them with regular shoes. I honestly cannot imagine why you’d need them on a spinning bike. They are easy once you get the hang of it. Indoors isn’t that big of a deal learning to clip in and out while in traffic grew some hair on my chest.

Finished my 5th ride tonight, all pre-recorded due to my schedule. Alex Trousant is my favorite so far, my ass is kicked every time so far.
Awesome seeing the Peleton bros putting the miles in. For those of you that have not already, link in to Strava and join our bike gang. Great tool to keep track of all cardio workouts and it is free. Also helps to motivate you when you see scrubs like Daniel Ocean logging more miles than you in a week. https://www.strava.com/clubs/188670
I don’t have the time to bike outdoors right now. Running 5-6 miles a day which is what I would have to average to get a similar workout to what I am doing right would kill my knees joints etc so for the next couple months it will be Peloton and weights. Also the classes are better more enjoyable than I thought they’d be
I get bad shin splints. I pushed myself too hard the past week running 3 miles a day (which is a lot for my frame) and I have to go low impact for a while which is one of the reasons I am excited for this bike.
I am not as tall as you but I fit fine at 6’ 1” and I feel like I have 4-5 inches I could lift my seat.
I'm probably dumb to say this being a cycling noob, but I was worried about horizontal distance from seat to handlebars and getting comfortable riding position there. If someone could explain why that is a dumb concern, I'm all ears. Thanks.
It’s not dumb. You can move the seat up and down to accommodate different heights. Also you can move the seat forward and back for arm length. People of the same height have different length arms and legs. For example my son is 6’2” but my arms are longer so we got “fitted”. That’s why it’s important to go to the showroom.
Thank you. I hate going to showrooms of any kind ever, but your advice is making a convincing case for making an exception here. There is a good bar nearby that can making going near this hideous part of town tolerable.
Probably need to get someone to look at your form if you’re getting shin splints. It’s probably just be a simple fix.
Dude this happens to me every time I try to start running again. I've done 7 straight days of the peloton along with a low carb diet & down 8 lbs in a little over a week. Legs are sore everyday but cycling is something I know I can do every day.
It’s great and humbling at the same time. Oh yea I just did a 20 mile ride, I am a bad ass. *gets on Strava to see everyone else did a 30-50 mile ride* /feelsbadman Great motivation for someone super competitive.
I am super competitive but mostly against myself. Beating my own past performances is my greatest motivator and indicator of improvement. With that being said, seeing someone else logging miles while I am on the couch or “too busy to ride” does motivate me to stop being lazy or restructure my schedule.
Same here. And it’s even worse bc people can see when you last rode so it motivates me to make sure I stay doing it. I love that it has the Personal Records included so I can see how each ride compared to the best ride I have had in those segments.
I think I'm going to start a gofundme account so I can buy one of these. Gonna include a picture of my belly button with all of the lint built up in it. Or I'll just keep waiting for the groupon peloton.
