worth it? they lock you into a year subscription to their classes, but I suppose that's the whole point of it anyway
I've been going back and forth on buying one.... I've heard nothing but great things about them. I probably will in the next month or so.
It's like $2000 for a bike and then you pay $40/month in subscription fees to the classes. That's an expensive exercise bike though.
I love it. Just finished my 100th ride since getting the bike in March and have lost 25 lbs. It's def a tough workout with different instructors to fit what you're looking for. One of my favorite teachers just left, actually, but his 500 on demand rides won't be going away. He focuses on heart rate training. My favorite teacher now works in different power zones and mine have drastically improved. They could use some better looking chick teachers.
Buy a real bike + a Wahoo Kickr Snap + a Zwift or Sufferfest membership. Then go ride outside when it's nice.
I did. About 2300 all in with shoes, HR monitor, pad, and ridiculous delivery fee. It's def expensive, but I think it's been worth it. Like all types of workouts, it's not for everyone.
Convenience is what attracts me so much. Being able to get a quick workout in at home 1-2 times a day would be ideal.
I have it set up in my home office. They have live classes setup throughout the day where they give you shoutouts and you can compete against people on the leaderboard in real time. There are also over 6k on demands you can start at any time. The rides range from 5, 10, 15 minute warm ups to 20-30 HIIT rides to 45-120 min rides. There really is anything you want. They also have different scenic rides that you can throw on and go at your own pace with some really cool locations.
road bikes are expensive as hell too, then you have to deal with weather, idiot drivers, blowouts, etc running is killing me, I think this could be worth it
Join me in my bike gang. We can rule WRL and Katy Trail. Then we can meet up with Rascals in the hill country and ride and shit.
I started going to a spin class 2-3 times a week as part of a focus on cardio and diet. I'm down 40 pounds in 12 weeks and feel great.
It's like soul cycle for people who don't want to go to soul cycle. Aka huge faggots soul cycle 4 life
Somebody trying not to be a fatass (unlike the vast majority of Americans) is far more important than 10 seconds of your time.
A couple years ago when Soul Cycle took off I was dating a girl whose parents were visiting. Her dad, a bit of a Larry David type, heard about it and wanted to check it out. Went in for a tour, got super confused, asked where the track was ect. The chick that showed him around was so confused and explained it was stationary. He got the biggest yao face and said "this is a horrible business idea. It will never work" Advised the girl to find new employment soon and walked out. IT was one the most hilariously awkward things I have ever witnessed. The girl I was dating was mortified. So great.
29ATEW Is my referral code. PM me if you have any questions on anything. I think you'll really enjoy it
My future pops in law got one. Lives in the boonies and a solid home workout setup was critical. Has lost over 50 pounds on the thing, it's been cool to see. My fiancé attended one of their live sessions that get broadcasted and he worked out with her from 2,000 miles away. Pretty cool
If it wasn't $2000 for the bike I'd have pulled the trigger yesterday. I'm new to biking for exercise and that's just a lot to spend on a bike of any sorts. That said, I'll probably do it at some point.
I live in an area that road biking isn't convenient or ideal so the digital in-house option is much more appealing. Just so damn expensive and I'm a man who has all sorts of additional expenses about to line up in the next few months. Again, I'll still probably do it though.
I can appreciate the advantages of an on demand exercise program, but that amount of investment seems outrageous. Why not just go to a spin studio a few times a week? I've done several rounds of Insanity in my life, and the working out at home thing gets really old.
definitely understand that part of it, but I've already got a pretty legit home gym setup, so this is more in line with what I already have. plus spin places around here are expensive as fuck too
Yeah, they can get up there. I guess I'm lucky that the studio I go to is very reasonable. I pay $59 a month for 10 classes. Unlimited is only $75. It's a brand new place with brand new bikes too.
