There’s arguable pseudoscience about the effects of sauna time on heat shock protein release blah blah blah. It just feels good. No more than 15min though, and be sure to hydrate.
So today was interesting Was going to finish my upper day with dips and then the fire alarm went off. Everyone had to leave when we figured out what the pa was saying. Apparently emergency alarms don't stop dumb fat bitches and their retard husbands from slamming wall balls. Wasnt allowed to grab my stuff out of the locker either. So as everyone was waiting outside I took a walk around the building for some ca...ca.. hr. Cah. What that fuck is that word? I know it but I never do it. Anyways I gave up on that and discovered some atlas stones 225,180 and 130? Tossed the 130 around. But haven't picked up the 180 yet. Anyways most of the tires are chained to the guardrail. As if anyone can steal anything from a place with that much fucking security. Was able to toss around one of the bigger ones til we were allowed back in. Hit the sauna and boom the alarms go off again.
I like to drink my pre-workout in the sauna and stretch out a bit. Makes me feel like I am getting a better stretch when my muscles are warmed up.
A sauna is the biggest item I want that’s not lifting specific equipment. If the Russians use it, I’m going to use it
No ones lifting huh? Just getting weaker. 9 week’s out and my deadlift went extra shitty yesterday so that’s promising.
hensleya who else should I look at for a squat bar besides Texas and Kabuki? I’m done with USAPL after this Kim Walford shit. Bring on the squat and deadlift bars
So some behind the scenes shut happens with Kim then they ban a girl from hosting meets bc she let Kim lift as an exhibition lifter. They had a rule in place that they you can’t have an exhibition lifter that isn’t a USAPL member. Their rules just try to suck every ounce of fun out of the meet and they just don’t truly care about the lifter
Bulldog and iron wolf are probably other most popular, although I’m not sure if iron wolf is being produced at the moment.
had a touch of the flu so had to take 3-4 days off, didn't do a lot today but felt great. Was flying on my pullups.
Shoulder is sore. No idea why but maybe too much pressing Hip is acting up. It does go away after a few days but if I squat it does it again. So my squat has gone up a lot since fixing my mistakes....but now I'm tweaking something. WTF.
so finished at 95% for one rep on bench and squat. 290-bench and 280-squat. both flew up. All other sets on squat were slow, painful and out of position. I have no idea how 280 went up that easy. Only thing I can think of is mindset and focused
How many bars do you have. Boss woman says we'll prob get rid of the LifeTime membership in oct. Going to use that money on plates and bars.
I picked up the echo bike, some more bar storage, and some mono arms too. They arrive tomorrow. Putting down the flooring when I get back from vacation along with paint and lighting. Decided not to pick up a reverse hyper right now. Picking up some more video gear for the YouTube channel I’m launching in the next month or two.
The only bar that interests me is the Duffalo Bar I think the new eleiko power bars Lifetime got with the slightly more aggressive knurling helped me pull 600 hookgrip so I'm looking for something like that as well. Def not looking to buy both. I need more weight. Been scouring fb but everyone thinks their junk plates are worth more than they are.
Not going to lie I want a bike only to stave off my eventual winter depression. I hate doing anything. My lifts usually suck too. I hate going for walks with my mutt during the winter (Except when it snows he loves that shit) It's like work. For both of us. But I'll prob go to Mount Vernon BB LOL So...
Having a lot of trouble getting into a routine. I'm a nurse. 12-hour night shifts. Took a lot of time off between August and now and decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and get back into the gym. Thread, keep me motivated.
I work long days also. Sometimes it helps to just get to the gym for something short even 15min of HIIT on those days, then focus on your non-working days for longer lifting periods. The downside is your work days are long. The upside is you have more days off.
Rumor is carbs are good for energy, so probably start off with a couple slices of pizza as preworkout
Treat yourself to a new buttplug. No way you’ll be able to stare down that new hardware without wanting to deadlift.
This was me yesterday. Ate awful the pas couple days. didnt drink any caffeine yesterday and then skipped preworkout. Stopped my snatch workout then moved on to cleans where I missed 105kg for my last single but should have had it easily
